Recent Beauty Favorites – Spring ’16

June 14, 2016 Katie Marie 11 Comments

So many new favorites from this past spring! It’s been a while since I’ve shared recent beauty favorites — I used to do it monthly, but I just wasn’t discovering many true beauty favorites within a months time, so I opted to not share a post than to throw together a bunch of products that I wasn’t truly in love with. Which is why I’ll be doing them seasonally from now on.

Recent Beauty Favorites from this Spring

Can we talk about the beauty that is on these table?!You NEED this palette! NYX Cosmetics hit it on the nail with this one!In the past I’ve shared monthly beauty favorites from January, February, March, September, October last year in 2015, so if you’re curious to read about more favorites, check them out. Most of them are still favorites that I use today!

NYX Cosmetics Ultimate Shadow Palette in Warm Neutrals | Retail $18.00 | This palette came out around April and, of course, I was intrigued at a nude palette from the drugstore. I reviewed it HERE, but after that I kept picking it up and using it — until my new FAVORITE palette was released. This NYX Ultimate palette is such great quality, and if you buy it on sale it’s pretty affordable!

This powder from IT Cosmetics is EVERYTHING!!IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Finishing Powder, Pressed | $29.00 |  I received this powder in the QVC TSV set that came out in March and have been using it almost every day since. As you can see, I’ve already hit major pan and it shouldn’t be too much longer until I finish this. That’ll be a sad day…it’s SO good at setting your under eye concealer and not creasing so badly throughout the day. Great stuff!

Tarte Tarteist Sculpt & Slim Contour Brush | $34.00 | I purchased this with the contour palette and I just got it to help hit the $50 threshold for free shipping at Sephora (Tell me I’m not the only one who does that!). To be 100% honest I full expected to resell it on Facebook or return it after I tried it out…but I fell in love with it! I reviewed it HERE if you want to read all the reasons why…but I use it almost every time I want to contour. Great brush for a more natural, not so chiseled, contour!

The beauty of Spring favorites!Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation | Retail: $39 | I’ve heard this praised for years as a great full-coverage, oily-girl-friendly, foundation — even before I was into makeup and just looking for something to cover my acne. But it’s taken me this long to actually try it out. And I get it. I get why everyone raves about it! It’s fantastic! I don’t even really need to set it with powder, it keeps my oils under control beautifully. It covers really well and I love using it for everyday wear since I don’t really have to bother with any concealers if I don’t want to. I highly recommend!

Have you tried this Rosebud Perfume Co Strawberry Lip Balm?Rosebud Perfume Co Strawberry Lip Balm | Retail: $7.00 | I walked into Sephora wanting to try out the thick lip mask from Bite Beauty…and walked out with this affordable beauty. Who knew?! I certainly didn’t, and the price was so reasonable for Sephora, I had to give it a try. And I’ve been loving it! I keep it at my makeup table to apply before I start my makeup so it really moisturizes my lips while I work. The texture is really nice, too…Almost gel-like, but a bit thicker than that. I love it, and will repurchase when this is empty! Is it better than the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask? I don’t know, but it works with my budget right now!

Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Eyeshadow Primer | Retail: $26.00 | As you can see, this is just a little deluxe sample I got with an order in the past, and it doesn’t work to keep my eyeshadows from creasing — I haven’t had good experience with Benefit primers — so I thought it was just a dud, but I found a way to make it work on the days I want some shimmer on the lids! After applying an eyeshadow primer and blending in my crease and outer V shadows, I like to take this on top of all that, just on the middle of the eyelid, and blend it out before packing on the shimmer on top. It works beautifully to intensify the shimmer shadow. I doubt I’ll be purchasing the full size of this, but I am glad I found a way to make what I have work so well!

These L'Oreal Matte Glosses are EVERYTHING! :-DMilani Rose Powder Blush in Romatic Rose | Retail: $8.49 | I’m late to the game on this one, but I picked it up on a whim and FELL IN LOVE! It’s so beautiful! I love matte blushes, and this shade is perfect for my skintone. I find myself reaching for it so much this spring and summer. If they ever go to discontinue it…I know I’m going to have to pick up several backups!

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Glosses | Retail: $9.99 | These lip products are really unique for the drugstore. They aren’t those longwear matte liquid lipsticks, they’re more of a really comfortable liquid lipstick, like the Too Faced Melteds that we all know and love. I find myself reaching for these often because they’re so comfortable to wear, they stick to the lips a lot longer than a regular lipstick, and they’re more moisturizing than a matte lipstick. I shared a review on them HERE, if you’re interest. All in all, I love them and hope L’Oreal comes out with more shades!

And those are all my recent beauty favorites that I can’t get enough of. Do we have any favorites in common? Let me know!

Some products just stand out from the rest of them...these ones from @LadyKaty92 look really good, I need to look into them soon!

Any questions about my disclosure, read here. :-) Thank you for your support!

I love the Rosebud lip gloss! It’s one of those rare products I use all the way empty on a regular basis. I also love to hear good things about that Tarte foundation, I’ve been thinking of trying it!

I have a few of the L’Oreal Infallible glosses and love them! I have brighter colors, but these more neutral shades look great.

I’ve heard good things about the Tarte foundation. One of these days I’m going to have to try it out. I love the Rosebud salve (I have a ton of flavors), I like to keep it by my bed and use it at night before I go to sleep.

Oooh, I’m excited to know those L’Oreal mattes are not your typical plasticy, peel-off type liquid lipstick. I love the glosses from that line so I will be checking these out.
