My Review…

First Impression…
I really liked the idea behind this palette — there’s everything you need to create a look on the go, besides the foundation, liner, and mascara. It makes packing your makeup for a trip very easy, especially if you like nude and brown colors on your eyes.

It’s got great, basic colors, but you can still get looks from every day to sultry. I was able to put this palette to the test when I went out of town New Years week and brought this palette along. I really liked it! I used this palette for the days I just stayed around the house and I also used it when I went to an evening wedding. I’m one who always likes to pack light, so this was a huge plus for me.

The Packaging…
LORAC PRO To Go
is packaged very well. It’s kind of like they stuck two palettes back to back — one side is for the eyes and the other side is for the cheeks. On both sides there’s a magnet that is really strong. I’ve never had a problem with the cover opening unexpectedly. There’s a clear plastic insert on both sides that serves a few different purposes, I found out. Mainly, it ensures that the eye and face products don’t dirty the cover and it also comes in handy when I want to do a really sharp winged look with my eyeshadow — because it’s both bendable and see-through, it works perfectly! Even better than using tape. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Product & Application…
The quality of the eyeshadows are really pigmented and buttery-soft — as you can tell from the picture on the right. Which, by the way, all of the swatches are done without primer underneath — which proves just how intense and pigmented they are. This really impressed me! I like that I don’t have to work hard to get the colors to show up on my lid.

These colors are so pigmented, you really just need to barely tap your brush into the shadow in order to get enough color for both eyes, oftentimes. The black is awesome — I do not own a black that’s this intense, and I find myself always picking up this palette to use the black when I want to darken the outer V, no matter what other eyeshadows I’m using. I like how they include a variety of shimmery and matte colors in this palette, as I don’t always like to have shimmer on my lids. The cream color is the perfect brow highlighter for me, and I love using it in the inner corner of my eye, too, when I want to brighten things up.

The bronzer and two blushes, on the other side of the palette, are really great, too. In fact, they’re the only blushes I’ve been using since I got this palette! At first, I’ll admit that I didn’t use the middle, pink blush, just because I thought it was too pinky for my skintone. But actually it gives a very natural blush for me, when used with a light handy. The coral plus (al the way on the right) has little flecks of sparkle in it, which I am not too big a fan of. But it doesn’t show up too much when applied to the cheeks. The bronzer is great! It gives me a really natural warmth to my face, and I’ve really enjoyed working it into my every day makeup routine.

Major Dislikes…
Because they are so pigmented and soft, it can be easy to cause fall out on your cheeks when you do your eyes. But tapping your brush off before applying to your lid helps keep the fall out to a minimal. The LORAC PRO To Go
palette also comes with two brushes, and while I like the angled liner brush to put shadow right against my lash line, I really don’t care for the other brush. It’s too small to really get good use out of. I suppose it would work well if you just wanted to apply color in the outer V, but for my eye shape it’s too small to do that.

Major Likes…
Obviously, because they are so crazy pigmented! I love it! It makes doing my eye makeup so much more enjoyable and easy, as the colors just glide right on. And they blend out really well, too. You don’t have to spend a lot of time building up the colors or trying to blend them out softly. LORAC knows how to make their eyeshadows!

The way the palette is put together is really nice, too. It’s not super thin, but it’s small and compact, making it easy to fit into my purse or makeup bag. The mirror on the eyeshadow side is great, too — the perfect size for if you are applying your eyeshadow on the go.

Final Thoughts…
I think LORAC’s PRO To Go
palette is a real winner! It would also be a really good gift for a girl who is just getting into makeup, in my opinion — the colors are easy to work with and the blush and bronzer that it comes with will save newbies from stressing over the multitude of blush and bronzer choices at the drugstore. It’s compact and easy to grab and throw in your purse for the day, and the brushes that it comes with (while I’m not crazy for one) would suffice very well if you had to use it for touch up. If you’ve never given any of LORAC’s products a try before, I highly encourage you to purchase this Pro to Go palette. It’ll give you a good taste of the quality of their products and you won’t regret it!

LORAC’s Eyeliner is on the Front of the Lines! (Beauty Review)

January 17, 2014 Katie Marie 12 Comments

I know itโ€™s been a while since I reviewed the first LORAC product – which you can see my review HERE – but Iโ€™m back with another review on a product that I received from LORAC. ๐Ÿ™‚ For those of you who missed it – or are new followers – I did a ‘What’s In My Mailbox? LORAC!‘ post a few months ago showing you what they sent me to review. And today we are looking at the awesome eyeliner they send me. ๐Ÿ™‚
About LORAC Front of the Line Pro Eyeliner…

This high-performing no-smudge, no-budge, water-resistant liquid eye liner boasts a unique automatic delivery system that provides a clean, precise application. The flexible tip provides ultimate control, accuracy and smooth strokes, so youโ€™ll never miss your lines. From very fine to dramatically bold, this versatile pro will take you to the front of the line every time!

The Eye Tutorial Kit comes with step-by-step instructions for applying makeup like a pro and remember: practice makes perfect!

My Review…

First Impressions…
I’ve seen this liner on the LORAC website before and was really intrigued. I always like finishing off my eyes with at least a thin winged liner, if not thicker/bolder. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m sure every girl out there has a feature on their face that they love to play up — and mine is most definitely my eyes. So when I saw that this finely-tipped liner was included in the package of things to review, I was thrilled! They sent me the Front of the Line Pro
 in brown.

The Packaging…
The packaging for this product is great! Really sleek and thin, compared to most liquid eyeliners I have tried. The cap has some sort of spring in the top and when you want to close it you have to make sure you hear a little snap. Once you hear that, you know the lid is on tight and there is no worries of it trying out!

There’s some kind of loose object inside that you can hear when you shake it — and I can really tell that this helps to keep the eyeliner going strong. Each time, before I use LORAC’s Front of the Line Pro
, I give it a good shake and it’ll give me a dark, intense brown line.

The Product & Application…
The liner is very liquidy, but because of the super-fine tip, it glides on like a dream. You have to give it a few seconds to dry before messing with it, but once it’s set it doesn’t go anywhere! The tip, as you can see, is very long, thin, and pretty flexible — which makes for easy applications whether you’re just lining your upper lash line or creating a wing.

While the tip is really fine, this doesn’t prohibit you from doing a thick line if you want to. How thick your line ends up being depends on how much pressure you apply. So this Front of the Line Pro
liner is totally an all-in-one eyeliner! As I mentioned above, I received this in the color brown. Now I want one in black and I’ll be set! ๐Ÿ™‚

Major Likes…
I like everything about it! Maybe I’m a little biased because I love a good eyeliner, but, seriously, this Front of the Line Pro
is seriously ON the front lines when it comes to good eyeliners. ๐Ÿ™‚ I like that I can get a really thin winged liner (for every day looks) and also get the really thick, dramatic lines (for special occasions). I usually have a difficult time getting both my winged eyeliners to look the same for both eyes, but not with this liner! It’s really easy to handle and just glides right on.

Major Dislikes…
There’s really only one minor thing that comes to mind, when I think of what I dislike about it. If you don’t give this liner a good shake before you use it, the liquid will be pretty watery and thin. But this isn’t really a fault of LORAC — that’s why they put the little ‘mixer’ in the tube. So just be sure to give it a shake before you use it!

Final Thoughts…
If you haven’t been able to tell yet…I absolutely love this liner! I know I am going to be very sad when I finally use this tube up. It’s so easy to use and makes winging your eyeliner out a breeze! (Which is really nice when you have issues with doing a winged eyeliner!) If you’ve been looking for a nice, high-end liquid eyeliner to try, I highly recommend you try this liner out for yourself!

Let’s take a look at LORAC’s Multiplex 3D Lipgloss Today! (Beauty Review)

October 23, 2013 Katie Marie 4 Comments

Today I am reviewing one of the first products from the beauty bundle that LORAC sent me a few weeks ago. There will be several other reviews of LORAC products in the weeks to come, so be on the lookout! ๐Ÿ˜‰

About LORAC Multiplex 3D Lip Gloss…

Get glam, glossy, gorgeous lips with LORAC Cosmeticsโ€™ Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss! This innovative, paraben-free lip gloss contains holographic pigments for multidimensional, high-lacquer shine and vibrant, long-lasting lip color. Multiplex 3-Dโ€™s unique formula is infused with antioxidants to help nourish and protect while the creamy, moist texture help lips look silky-smooth and ultra-glossy.

The custom, pro brush is designed to easily hug the curves of the lips for a super sexy 3-D lip gloss pout! LORAC Cosmeticโ€™s best-selling lip gloss comes in six awe-inspiring shades that that keep lips looking luscious full all day and all night long.

My Review…

First Impression…
I have found out that the LORAC brand, as a whole, is all very high quality and well-made cosmetics. The LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss
es are no exception! And their packaging is awesome! I really enjoyed the sleek and polished look they give their products. And, considering how small lip glosses normally are, LORAC really gives you a lot in this tube. Which is something I appreciate — as when I splurge on a high-end product, I want it to last for a while. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Product…
LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss
is incredibly thick, creamy, and pigmented. The color I received was ‘Intermixed’, and it’s a beautiful peachy/rose-gold kind of color that would really compliment those with fair skin. Since I have rather olive-toned skin, this lip gloss really didn’t enhance or brighten my lips, since they are naturally almost this exact shade. But when I watch it apply, it’s easy to see that the color is really rich and thick. So if you have really pale lips, this will enhance them beautifully and give you a gorgeous shine! There isn’t too big a smell to these glosses. It definitely has one, but it’s very subtle — you have to get right next to the gloss to smell it. It’s a very pleasant, floral kind of scent.

The Application…
The applicator on the LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss
is really pointed, as you can see in the picture, which gives you amazing accuracy when applying this to your lips. The bristles are pretty firm, too, which keeps you from making a mess. For me, personally, when I apply lip gloss I like to, at first, put it on with the applicator, but then blend it out with my finger. I feel it just gives it a really natural, smooth look that I personally prefer. And LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss
works great for that. There isn’t a taste to the gloss, that I noticed. I have a habit of licking my lips, and I never noticed a particular taste, besides it feeling thick and stick. ;-As for how long this gloss lasts…not really long. I apply it in the morning, before going to school, and it’ll wear a bit as I drink water or lick my lips (habit!). By lunch time — after I eat — pretty much all traces of the gloss are gone and I’d have to reapply. So the longevity of the product isn’t that great. For for a gloss, I’m really not expecting it to last for hours, so that didn’t bother me.

Major Likes…
The pigmentation is awesome and I really liked the applicator on this one! I almost forgot to mention, but the gloss container almost has a spring action to it, when you twist it open. I don’t know how it works, but as soon as you twist it open, it’ll rise up out of the bottle by itself, all ready for your lips with a full applicator tip. Great perk, in my opinion!

Major Dislikes…
Probably the biggest thing that I noticed with the LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss
is the ‘sticky’ feeling of the product. After I apply it on my lips, whenever I would press them together, I would get that really tacky/sticky feel. And for me, personally, I really don’t like the feeling. If this isn’t an issue with you — or it’s something you look for in a lip gloss — than you don’t have to worry about any cons with this product! ๐Ÿ™‚

Final Thoughts…
While I really liked this product and thought the quality, consistency, and pigmentation was awesome, I don’t think I would personally purchase the LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss
for myself — solely because I have the odd quirk of not liking tacky/sticky stuff on my lips. But, honestly, if that wasn’t an issue, I’d be all over this lip gloss!! I’m really thinking of giving another of their lip glosses a try — in a different color — and maybe it won’t have that tackiness to it. I loved how pigmented the gloss was. If I got a darker shade, I don’t think I’d really need a color underneath — if I was going for just a day time look. It’d give enough color with just the gloss itself!

So, all in all, if you don’t mind the sticky feeling in a lip gloss, I’d highly recommend you give LORAC Multiplex 3-D Lip Gloss
a try! You won’t be disappointed in the packaging, consistency, application, or pigmentation. A wonderful, high-quality lip gloss, that’s for sure!

I received this product from LORAC for free in order to review. It was not required that I give a positive review, but solely to express my own thoughts and opinions of this product, which I have done. I only recommend products and/or services that I have personally used or experienced and that I believe will be good for my readers.

What I Got This Week! (Readers Opinion Wanted at End of Post!!!)

October 5, 2013 Katie Marie 4 Comments

I was so excited to receive a package from LORAC Cosmetics in my mailbox this week, I just wanted to take the time to post about it to yall! ๐Ÿ˜€

Before I continue, if you don’t know what LORAC is, let me explain. ๐Ÿ™‚ As mentioned above, it’s a cosmetic company that was created by Carol Shaw – the daughter of a hairstylist and manicurist. Over the years LORAC has grown into a brand like no other — it is the Red Carpet Authority and has unparalleled access to celebrities, which says a lot about the brand!!

In their own words, “As a brand that puts care before color, but sacrifices neither, LORAC‘s treatment-based makeup is truly unique. From the plant extracts, emollients, skin rejuvenators, and conditioners they pack in their products, to the stuff left out (oil, fragrance, and other harsh ingredients), every LORAC product fulfills Shaw’s dream to design makeup that makes you look gorgeous like the stars do — without appearing as if you’re wearing much at all.”

So now that you know a little bit about the brand, I can now talk to you about the products I received to review from LORAC. It will take me a little while to go through and review everything, since I want to give each product sent to me it’s own review, but that just means more for you all to look forward to! ๐Ÿ˜€

For today’s post, I’m just going to give you a rundown of everything I received from them. As you could see from the picture above, there are several different items!

The first thing I noticed right off the bat is the Unzipped eyeshadow palette that comes with a deluxe sample of their Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. Since I am a big eyeshadow junkie (I LOVE playing with new shadows and different colors) I was thrilled to get this palette, as well as the Pro To Go eye and cheek palette. This little duo palette will come in super handy for when I travel and don’t want to take a bunch of stuff with me!

They also sent along one of their Natural Performance Foundations for me to try. I’m always on the lookout for a good foundation that will give me great coverage (since I deal with acne and hyper pigmentation a lot!) but keep my face look natural and not too cakey. So I’m excited to give this one a try! The next product was their Front of the Line Pro water-resistant liquid eyeliner. The color I received was brown, and since I only owned black liquid eyeliners before this, I was really excited about this one! The last item in my LORAC bundle was their Multiplex 3D Lip Gloss in Intermix. The color is a kind of bronzed pink – which is usually the kinds of lip colors I like to wear, so it worked perfectly!

Well, there you have it! That’s my exciting package I received in the mail this week. ๐Ÿ™‚ I look forward to bringing y’all reviews in the near future!

I know I don’t usually post a “What’s in My mailbox” kind of thing…but I’m seriously reconsidering doing that on occasion. I’d love to get your opinion on it! Would you be interested in reading a “What’s in My Mailbox” post? I don’t think I’d post it once a week or anything (since i don’t get things that frequently), but maybe whenever I do get something in the mail. Please just feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!!

(Just as a disclaimer, I am only posting this to 1) help spread the word about LORAC and 2) show you what to expect as I break down this large bundle into several single reviews over the next few weeks. Easier than trying to pack it all into one post! Many, many thanks to LORAC for sending me these review items! ๐Ÿ™‚
