It’s time for another Glossybox unboxing — and this time the July Glossybox! If you are following me on Snapchat, you know that I was very, very pleased with my box initially. But since getting it in the mail I’ve been able to test out (almost) all the products that I received in the box and…my thoughts have changed a bit. Keep reading to find out why!
If you missed my previous unboxings, I’ve been receiving Glossybox for the past two months and you can check out my first one, May unboxing, HERE and last months, June unboxing, HERE!
Glossybox July Unboxing
Glossybox was taking us to the pool this month! I say this every month, but I love their boxes! They’re really sturdy and cute, and I love finding ways to reuse them around the house!
First glance, as I already mentioned, had me really excited about this month’s box. There was a lipstick, an eye pencil, and that drying mist for nail polish were at the top and I was intrigued to try out that glove — and 4 out of 6 ain’t bad!
Too Faced Melted Longwear Liquid Lipstick
Retail for Full Size: $21 | Click for Ingredient List & More Information
I Received A Deluxe Size Sample || The makeup always jumps out at my first, and since this Melted liquid lipstick was in the color Melted Chihuahua — my favorite lipstick of all time — I did a little dance. I am almost out of my tube, so this will be put to use very soon! If you want to see swatches of this color, check out my review HERE. And if you don’t want to spend the $21 on this (AWESOME!) lipstick, check out a potential dupe HERE!
Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle Mist
Retail for Full Size: $16 | Click for Ingredient List & More Information
I Received A Full Size || I’ve gotten back into caring for and painting my nails recently (once again…my SnapFam already knows this ๐ ) so this product really intrigued me. But after reading how to use this product…I was less excited. This is a product you only use at the end — after you put on the top coat — and after waiting one minute, too. I was personally wanting this to help speed the time between coats so that I can complete my manicure, but since this has moisturizing properties inside I don’t think it would work well for that. And after a minute leaving my topcoat on…it’s pretty much touch dry already. And this product only promises ‘touch dry nails’. I tested it out several different ways — except sandwiched between coats — and they all worked well. But this is a pricey product! I received the full size 2.5 oz product, and that’s $16 for this little bottle! I’ll be curious to see how many manicures I can use it on before it’s empty. But I doubt I’ll repurchase, regardless. I have a cheaper product that works well.
NUXE Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse
Retail for Full Size: $45 | Click for Ingredient List & More Information
I Received A Full Size || So this seems like a really fantastic product, and it felt nice in my hair…but can I go on a little rant? I am a little tired of all the hair-and-body oils that subscription boxes include very frequently! I’ve never purchased a skin or body oil, but I have more than 10 different types of oils sitting in my backup drawer because I’ve received so many from other subscription boxes. I just have so many — I got a sample size one from Glossybox last month that I immediately passed on to a friend because…I just don’t need it!
Haha, okay, rant over! This product looks fine, though. I’m keeping it near my vanity table so that if my hair or skin looks dry when I’m doing my makeup in the morning, I have it handy to grab and apply.
Eyeko Fat Stick in Satin
Retail for Full Size: $12 | Click for Ingredient List & More Information
I Received A Full Size || A makeup item! Yay! I was excited! I’ve seen this brand a lot, but never tried anything from them. And just look at that color — it’s gorgeous! But…sadly, this was a big dud for me! I tried it on it’s own (still with eye primer underneath, though!) and it creased within 30 minutes! So the next day I applied it over my holy grail eyeshadow primer that never creases AND set it with a similar eyeshadow on top to keep it in place…and it still creased a few hours into wear! At that point, I gave up. Not worth the effort to figure out a way to make this work — Chrome from the LORAC PRO 2 palette looks exactly the same, so I can just use that.
GLOV Quick Treat
Retail for Full Size: $5 | Click for Ingredient List & More Information
I Received A Full Size || This is a little makeup remover cloth that fits around your finger and you can use to take off specific areas of makeup. Like if you are swatching lipsticks or eyeshadow palettes this would be perfect to use to swipe it off. But, I tried it with liquid lipstick….and it was pretty rough! I had to really scrub at my skin to get it off, and even then a trace remained. I will probably use this if I am swatching regular lipsticks…but I feel like a tissue would do just as well in most cases. Either way, I am glad to have it and will keep it in my drawer to use, but I wouldn’t go out and buy this on my own.
Fango Essenziali Moisturize Treatment Sheet Mask
Retail for Full Size: $7 | Click for Ingredient List & More Information
I Received A Full Size || I didn’t try this product out. It’s aimed at adding moisture to the skin and for me, especially in the summer…I do NOT need this! My skin is pretty slick and shiny 24/7. So, I passed it along to a friend who does have dry skin. But this is a great mask to get in a subscription box. And sheet masks are all the rage these days! So while I didn’t use it, I’m not mad at it. ๐
Whew! And we are done! I hope all the mini reviews were helpful! So when all was said and done…this box wasn’t as good as when I first looked through it — mostly because the jumbo eye pencil was horrible, the Glov didn’t work, and I had just had enough of the hair and face oils! But I am still super happy about my Melted Chihuahua and I will use the Miracle Mist up!
Did you get the July Glossybox?? Let me know what you thought of all the products inside. Or, if you aren’t subscribed…would you have liked this box? You know I love hearing from you! ๐

I unsubscribed from Glossybox last year and sometimes I miss it, but I usually only like about half of the things in the box so it just didn’t seem worth it anymore. Despite that, the oil and lip color in this box look really nice. I’ve had my eye on Melted Chihuahua for a while, maybe I’ll just grab it soon!

Great review! I love seeing subscription boxes – other options to the only one I get right now. Sorry your eye “fat stick” didn’t work. creasing for eye products is a big no no.
Melissa Burton says
The Too Faced alone would be worth getting this box!
Jenne - Polished Pathology says
I only keep my Glossybox because I got it on a lifetime special for about $15 a month…it’s still nice but there’s a lot of things I don’t use. Great breakdown!

Bummer you’re not super excited about the box – but I’m so intrigued by the Too Faced lippy – gonna have to check it out soon!!
Stacie Hamilton says
I think this looks like a great selection of products. I have tons of oils too and never use them either, but when the time is right I’m fully prepared. LOL!
CosmetopiaDigest says
The Nuxe dry oil is my HG. I love how it smells of cupcake batter, and I can use it on the face, hair and body without problems. But you’re right, beauty boxes are milking the beauty oil trend!
Nina says
I have been wanting to try out the Too Faced, too bad I didn’t sign up in time!

Love Glossybox! Such a great box

Omg! This box is packed!
