I know I just recently shared a subscription unboxing, but I have another one today with Glossybox’s May box! I’ve frequently heard about this subscription service, but haven’t given it a try until now. Getting a monthly box filled with goodies is like celebrating your birthday every month, I love it!
This post will be more of an unboxing than reviews on the products since — as you will see — there were several products I couldn’t, or wasn’t, interested in trying. But enough blabbing, let’s jump into it!
Glossybox May Unboxing
The box was shipped to me in this cute black and white box that snugly housed the well-known pink Glossybox box inside. I love repurposing boxes to organize different areas of my house. Do you repurpose your boxes? Share how you use them!
The added touch of the pink tissue paper, black ribbon, and sticker is really cute. Very classy and made me feel special to receive it! The pink Glossybox box is a really nice quality box, too!
Here’s a quick view at all the products that was in my Glossybox box for this month. As you can see, they’re all travel-size products, but I was glad to see they were very decent sizes. I feel like I’d be able to get a good feel for each product (except the shampoo and conditioner…hair is too long to use more than twice :-P)
I won’t drag on too long about the products, I’ll just share my initial thoughts and any first impression reviews, if I have any. ๐ I’ll link to all their websites so you can click to read more about them. So let’s dive in!
First thing I grabbed out was the Rituals Cosmetics Shower Foam in Zensation. This was really intriguing, since when you dispense it, it looks just like shaving cream. It works well for that purpose, too, behaving just like that would do. I like the thought that this cleans my skin, too. Very happy with this!
I was happy to see that they included two deluxe size samples of the Versaspa Face Moisturizing Gradual Tanner so that you can really get a good feel for the product. I, personally, don’t plan to try this because my face can be sensitive to these types of products and having a tanner face isn’t worth the risk of a pimple attack. ๐ So look for it in a giveaway, soon! ๐
The only real makeup product in the box was this Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Super Curling & Lifting Mascara. I’ve actually purchased the full size product in the past — and shared a review here — so do check that out if you’re curious on my thoughts!
The Nioxin System 3 Cleanser and Scalp Therapy Conditioner looked intriguing, but it’s targeted for normal to thin-looking hair. And while I’ve been experiencing a lot of postpartum hair loss…I still have pretty thick hair. I will, however, be giving it to my mom to use! If you want an update, after she’s used it, let me know!
Last item in the box was a Talika Photo-Hydra Day, a moisturizer that helps keep the glow in your face. I’m kind of nervous that it’ll make me look greasy, but I will give it a try eventually! (Backed up on trying new skincare products!)
The only other thing that was included in the box was a pamphlet with all the information for the products and an exclusive coupon for $5 off Nioxin Night Density Rescue. A sweet little perk, especially if you like the other Nioxin product that you got in your box!
And that’s my box! I will admit that this wasn’t the most exciting subscription box I’ve ever gotten, but that’s mostly because of my personal preference — I love getting makeup! There were several great products in this box, with generous sizes to really try them out, but I just personally prefer to get more makeup than skincare or hair care.
This box is $21 a month and you’re sure to get 5 deluxe size sample beauty-related products. I’m so-so on this subscription box. There were a lot of skin/hair care, but I would give it another go or two to see if they do offer more makeup products!
So, I think it just depends on what you’re looking for in a subscription box. Let me know below what you like to see in a subscription box. ๐

Looks like a nice box! I LOVE Rollerlash!

I wasn’t as thrilled at this box, either. I did a patch test of the facial tanner…NOT MY COLOR! Thank goodness it was only on my arm, haha! I’ve used the Nioxin stuff before and I like it, so I’ll keep it for traveling shampoo

Roller lash is my go to mascara! The mini last me forever.

I’m not a huge fan of receiving fake tan and shower gels in beauty boxes, mostly because we end up getting so many of those two products and they’ll lie around unused. Face masks, cleansers and moisturisers are a better bet IMO. That said, I love that Rituals shower gel. It smells amazing.

Oh Glossybox <3

Why have I not tried Glossybox yet? I am a sub box junkie and for some crazy reason I keep forgetting to try this one!
