A few weeks ago I was sent a box from the subscription service, Beauty Box 5. (If you don’t already follow me and enjoy watching unboxings and getting sneak peaks….what are you waiting for?? ๐ ) I haven’t seen many bloggers/vloggers talk about this subscription, so of course my beauty-detective side of me got curious. If you are too…just keep reading!
Beauty Box Five delivers a box of 5 deluxe or full-size products to your door every month for only $12 a month. The products range between makeup, skincare, haircare….anything beauty-related, really. So let’s take a look!
Beauty Box 5
So the theme of this Beauty Box 5 box was spring and the cheerful card that greeted me as soon as I opened it showed just that. So pretty! The box is pretty petite — I want to say it was about the size of my tablet.
First thing I pulled out was this Nail Polish Strips from Personail. Now I’ll just come right out and say it…I don’t like these nail stickers. I’ve tried them multiple times — even shared a blog post HERE — but they just don’t work for me. So this is totally personal opinion here, but I’ll be passing this along to one of my sisters. But if you like these, the design is super cute. The one I received is from the Charmingly Cute collection and is called La Chiq Atia.
Retail Value of Nail Strips: $12.99
I was given two different colored blushes, each containing two sheets. The concept of this is totally unique. When I first saw it, I was so confused at what it was. But it’s actually pretty cool! It has a bit more glitter in it than I would prefer, but it shows up well and if you’re the type of gal who likes to have makeup to touch up throughout the day…you’ll really appreciate this blush line from Mai Couture. Now I did see that the brand also have foundation powder papers…that just seems too out there, haha!
Retail Value: $15 for 50 sheets
The next thing that was in the box was this temporary tattoo. I’ve never been into these kind of things, but I have seen pins on Pinterest of people using these as nail art for their manicures, and that’s totally what I intend to use it for! If you want to see a tutorial, let me know in the comments below. Otherwise, keep an eye out on my Facebook page. I’ll share my results there. ๐
Retail Value: Unsure, not more than $2, though
This glitter liner is from a brand I’ve never heard of — Glamour Dolls — but considering it was an eyeliner, I was game. You know I love a good wing. ๐ But you know I wouldn’t steer you wrong…and this liner just didn’t cut it for me. It is more like a clear liner with gold glitter. If you’re wanting an actual gold liquid liner, I recommend this one here. But this…just no. It might work as an eyeshadow topper — or even an eyeliner topper….but that’s honestly not something I’ll probably ever do.
Retail Value: $3.99
The next was….a fragrance sample. I almost got into a huff when I saw this, but since it was an added bonus and didn’t count toward the 5 deluxe or full size products, I didn’t mind it as much. However, the smell just isn’t for me, but if you’re curious the fragrance is from Colour Me and is called Blue Sky.
Retail Value: $0.00
Last up is a deluxe size sample of the pur-lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum. This is a healthy size sample, since it’s only about half the size of the full size, which retails for $65! I’ve used this a few times since receiving it, and so far not bad. It has a fragrance to it, which I’m not crazy about, but it’s a very thin, almost liquidy consistency that soaks into the skin quickly.
Retail Value: $32 (my guesstimate)
And there you have it, all the contents of my Beauty Box 5 box! I will put the disclaimer out there that I am not a big fan of sample/deluxe size subscription boxes. Which is why I’ve never signed up for either Birchbox or Ipsy. And now that I’ve received a box, I know that they’re just not for me. I’d rather spend a few more dollars (in this case, about $9) and get a box filled with full size samples like Glossybox or Boxycharm. But that’s just my personal opinion and if you love samples, and like what I got in this box, than go for it! ๐
I’m curious, what kind of subscription box do you prefer? Cheaper subscriptions filled with deluxe/sample sizes or more expensive subscriptions with full size products?
Share this pin with your friends!
I received the products mentioned above as PR samples, though I was not required to feature. All thoughts are 100% my own. Any questions about my disclosure, read here. Thank you for your support!

I know, aren’t they? I plan to keep them in my purse for when an emergency, but I did test one out the other day and they work surprisingly well!

I love Pur-lisse, but that price tag :/
