If you follow me on any of my social media’s (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram…) then you’ve probably noticed how quiet I’ve been. I apologize so much for this and while I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet, I have been rather ill. I found out I was pregnant (Yay, we’re so excited! Our first!! ๐ ) about 2-3 weeks ago, and morning sickness (or….24/7 sickness, as I think is the more appropriate name) really hit me hard this past week.
I will try to continue to be active, whenever I am feeling well enough to function like a normal human being. But if there are long gaps where I am quiet….you can safely assume I am fighting for me life (okay, so it’s more like fighting to keep my food….but it all feels the same). ๐
So, with that all explained, let’s dive into today’s post. If you haven’t heard of this mascara (though I am sure you have, unless you’ve been living under a rock), I’m going into all the details — the good, the bad, you know what I mean — right after the jump. ๐
The Scoop About this Product
It’s a roller for lashes! The eye-opening Hook ‘n’ Roll brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls…while the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours.
Details:
- Easy-to-remove

Beauty tip: For super curl AND length, apply Roller Lash first to curl & lift your lashes then layer They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara on top. It’s sexy drama beyond belief!
My Review of Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara
First Impression & Packaging:
I’m always looking for a new mascara that has it all, and with all the mystery surrounding the launch of this product (I wasn’t the only one who saw all those ‘mystery mascara’ reviews, right?) I had to give this Benefit Roller Lash mascara a try.
The packaging is a-DOR-able! I am totally the type of gal to be drawn to something because of the packaging…..and this mascara has it all! The top is somewhat soft and rubberized, making it an easy grip to unscrew the cap.
The formula of the Roller Lash mascara is thick and black. I mean black! Which is just the kind of formula I prefer for a mascara. Though I can’t stand clumpy mascara — that is definitely not the look I am going for when I go to apply my mascara. I find with this Roller Lash mascara I have to be really careful not to just repeatedly coat, coat, and keep coating my lashes. They can tend to start looking really clumpy if I do that. But if I do a thin layer, let it dry, and then add another layer or two, I find that I get thick, defined, curled lashes without the clumps.
I love the results I get when I use the Roller Lash mascara! It curls beautifully — I never reach for my lash curler when I am using this mascara. It lifts and curls, and then holds that curl all day. As you can see from my before/after pictures, it makes such a gorgeous difference and brings out my natural lashes beautifully!
As I said, if I’m not careful when applying this mascara, it can get really clumpy. I like to apply my mascara in thin layers. Typically I only need two layers, but just waiting until the thin layers have dried really makes a difference in making sure all my lashes don’t start clumping together.
One other interesting thing to note with this mascara is that the expiration date is 6 months after purchasing. I may be wrong, but I thought most mascara expiration dates were always 3 months. Maybe Benefit did something different in their mascara that makes it last longer (or maybe I’m just misinformed)….but either way, I like that it has a longer life-span for this mascara. ๐
I forgot to mention, I also tried out Benefit’s tip and used this in conjunction with their They’re Real mascara, and I loved the results! Definitely give it a try! The Roller Lash mascara, like the They’re Real, takes some patience when you go to remove it (I typically have to go in with one more cotton pad after I’ve washed my face to remove the last bit of residue that tends to cling on.
This is a really lovely mascara, and one that I am continually grabbing for when doing my makeup. The tiny bristles on the inside of the curved wand do a really fabulous job of grabbing each lash. And I’ve never noticed fall out or smudging with this mascara. If you want to invest in a high-end mascara, I would say that the Benefit Roller Lash mascara is definitely worth the price!
So I’ve been talking long enough. What about YOU? Have you tried this mascara out? What did you think? If you haven’t, are you planning to buy it sometime in the near future?
This product was purchased with my own money. All thoughts are, as usual, 100% my own. ๐

I’ve heard some really great things about this mascara, so I definitely want to give it a try now! It looks great on your lashes! Oh and by the way, I’ve always been told 3 months for longevity of mascara too, that’s pretty neat that this one is longer! More bang for your buck! ๐

Thanks, glad you like the look of them, too. I’ve been loving wearing it! Yeah, I thought that was so awesome that it’s 6 months instead of 3. Totally makes the price so much more worth it! ๐

Glad to hear you do, too! ๐

Congrats on the big news, very exciting! I know it seems strange, but eating something (even if just a saltine cracker and even if eating something feels like the last thing in the world that would be what you want) helped me with morning sickness.
And it will get better….at least a little bit, eventually ๐
Katie Garvin says
Yes, that has been the trick — eating CONSTANTLY, even when I don’t want to. I totally know what you mean, there are definitely many, many moments when I feel like I can’t handle to put one more bite in my mouth, let alone chew it! ๐ฎ But, gotta power through it or the consequences of getting super hungry is really, really awful! ๐
Sissi says
Katie, I have not seen this mascara yet- it looks very interesting and I can see that the results look fabulous on you! I find only the packaging (that peachy lid?) looks a little weird lol. I did love the benefit theยดre real very much, so I can imagine this one with the added curve is a fabulous idea. Kisses, Sissi
Katie Garvin says
Yeah, the lid is a peachy color. I, personally, like it ๐ It’s fun and different. I love the results I get with this mascara, even more than They’re Real!
Maria Gridley says
I need to try this mascara, it looks like the type I like most which is to have curved & rubber brush!
Kelsey says
I’ve heard so many good reviews on this, so I’m really tempted to try it! I’m loving the Maybelline Lash Sensational right now though, which I’ve heard is actually a dupe.
And congratulations!!
