Too Faced Melted Long Wear Lipsticks – Review & Swatches

August 20, 2015 Katie Marie 52 Comments

I’m the type of girl who likes my lipsticks pigmented and long lasting — and Too Faced delivers that every time with their Melted lipsticks. If you haven’t had the opportunity to try them, you’re really missing out! Not only do they feel amazing on your lips, but they’re also sure to have a color to suit every gal out there!

toofaced-melted-liquid-lipstick-pinterest I was sent four of Too Faced’s newer Melted lipstick shade additions a few months ago and have had plenty of time to try them out. If you want to see how they look on my lips and my thoughts on them, just keep reading!

About Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks

toofaced-melted-liquid-lipstick-lippiesGet the staying power of a stain, the intense color of a liquid lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one long-wear formula. Using exclusive technology to keep cauldrons of molten lipsticks liquid and creamy, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours.

My Review of Too Faced NEW Melted Lipstick Shades

I could tell, without even swatching the color Melted Frosting, that it wouldn’t be a good fit for my skin tone, so I set it aside to give away to you all later. 🙂 As I said above, I have reviewed two of their lipsticks in the past, so feel free to click back and read my thoughts in details. Today I’m just going to be sharing with you how I like/dislike the newer colors that Too Faced added to their line earlier this year.

toofaced-melted-liquid-lipstick-melted-sugar-swatchMelted Sugar was another color I wished I had set aside to give away to you all, as you can tell it doesn’t work with my skin color. This picture was taken a few months ago, and since then I’ve gotten more of a tan and it looks even worse, lol. But for you gals who are lighter in complexion, this would be the color for you. As you can tell, the color on the lipstick tube isn’t very accurate of the color that’s inside, so I would recommend trying the color out from a tester at Sephora or Ulta before purchasing.

The formula, I feel, is a bit thinner than other colors in this line, so it takes a bit more work to get an even application of this lipstick. Also, because of the color and consistency, if you have any sort of flaking or cracked lips, it will definitely be amplified when you put Melted Sugar on. Something to keep in mind when considering if you want to purchase this color.

toofaced-melted-liquid-lipstick-melted-chihuahua-swatchesThe next color was Melted Chihuahua. This color is A-MAZ-ING! The color is a beautiful combination of mauve and taupe. The consistency is very opaque and I find that even if my lips are a bit dry, I can still totally rock this color. This is the type of lipstick that I keep in my purse at all times — the color almost always goes with whatever I am wearing or whatever eyeshadow color I might be sporting that day. It’s just super universal and feels great on the lips! Totally worth every penny you pay and would be my biggest recommendation for you to purchase!

toofaced-melted-liquid-lipstick-melted-velvet-swatchesLastly, I have Melted Velvet. As you can see from this picture, it’s one of those classic, beautiful deep reds that gives you a confidence boost the instant you apply it. 🙂 The consistency and pigmentation of this lipstick is very much like Melted Chihuahua — very opaque and soft. I forgot to mention with both these colors, they do hang on to the lips really well. They will transfer pretty easily. However, even with the transfer, I find that the color still holds up really well throughout the day on my lips. I have to retouch after eating, but besides that, it’ll stay on my lips no problem.

toofaced-melted-liquid-lipstick-boxesMy collection of Melted lipsticks has grown, and I hope continues to grow in the future. They’re just so vibrant and glossy, but longwearing at the same time! I’m not a fan of the metal look that they came out with recently, but I am all about their original Melted lipsticks! Pick up a shade and try it out!

Yes, they are wonderful quality! And I love that they last so long, but aren’t drying. Yeah, many of the shades just aren’t something I feel like I can rock. But I am SO happy with Melted Chihuahua 🙂

I LOVE the look of Melted Chihuahua and Melted Velvet, both are definitely colours I would reach for.
I’m not sure about Melted Sugar, I am very fair skinned and I can’t help but think it would leave me looking washed out.
I am going to have to see if I can get hold of these at some point because the more I see them the more tempted I am

I can’t wait to wear the Melted Velvet this winter! I’m not too into bright red lipsticks, but in the winter I like to rock it a few times. 🙂

If Melted Sugar wouldn’t work for fair skin either, I can’t imagine who would wear it — with my tan I looked like a clown! It’s a very unique color….definitely not “nude”. Its just too close to white, I guess.

These look amazing on you! Especially the Melted Chihuahua and the Velvet! Too Faced has really come out with an amazing assortment of colors for their melted line! I’m constantly seeing others I want to add to my collection, ha!

Aw, thank you! Yes, lots of stuff that Too Faced is coming out with recently really intrigues me. I’m not sure why, but in the years past (like 2 years ago) nothing they had really intrigued me. But I feel like last year is when I started going, “hey….that’s Too Faced….and looks pretty!” haha! Probably ever since they brought out the Chocolate Bar palette. 🙂

Gorgeous swatches on your perfect lips! I love Chihuahua and the red shade, but unfortunately Melted dries out my lips so my poor Peony sits unused.

Aww, that’s such a bummer! Matte lipsticks dry out my lips, but I seriously baby my lips all week with moisturizers and whatnot just so I can rock a matte lip at least once in a while, lol 😛

The colors are stunning, but the Melted formula is slightly to dry feeling for me. I prefer the Melted Metal formula. 🙂

I haven’t tried any from the Melted Metal — I’m kind of scared of that frosty look. I can’t stand frosty or sparkly lip products, personally.

These look amazing on you! I am obsessed with the way Melted Chihuahua looks. I think I NEED It ASAP! I have been loving all the things Too Faced has been doing, and the melted line is so nice. I am always seeing thins I need to add. I think I just found a few more to add to that list.

Aw, that’s a bummer, but everyone is different! A gal farther up in the comments said that these didn’t work for her, but the Melted Metals work. Maybe try those the next time you’re in Ulta or Sephora 😀

Which Meted lipstick do you own?! I need to go play with the other colors in store to see if there’s anything else I can’t live without. I’m just so happy with Melted Chihuahua that I haven’t thought to check anything else out.

Yes, they are pricey! I love it when Ulta has their 20% off 🙂 That’s when I splurge on my high-end products!
