An Awesome $250 Sephora Giveaway!

January 30, 2015 Katie Marie 6 Comments

It’s Friday! And while you are all looking forward to getting a weekend break from work…I thought it’d be fun to give you another reason to celebrate.
Because who doesn’t love a giveaway? Especially a Sephora giveaway!!
So to celebrate this awesome giveaway, I thought to show you my top 3 makeup products that you can purchase from Sephora!

My Top 3 Sephora Recommendations

1) Urban Decay Naked Skin Liquid Makeup

This formula helps skin achieve a natural, illuminated and bright
finish— like the beautiful skin you were born with. Naked Skin is
formulated with light-diffusing spheres, transforming you to look
professionally retouched. Buildable coverage allows women to customize
their look. Available in a meticulously calibrated range of shades,
Urban Decay’s precise shade numbering system does poetic justice to both
warm tones (ending in “.0”) and cool skin tones (ending in “.5”). The
finish is matte, never flat, and luminous, but not shiny.

2) NARS Radiant Creamy Concealers

Ideal for all skin types, Radiant Creamy Concealer is a multiaction
formula that instantly obscures imperfections, blurs the appearance of
lines and wrinkles, and hides dark circles and signs of fatigue.
Hydrating and luxuriously smooth, it layers lightly for buildable
medium-to-full coverage and a natural luminous finish. The multiactive
botanical blend hydrates, firms, reduces redness, and strengthens the
skin by helping its barrier retain vital moisture. It also delivers
antioxidant protection to protect the skin against damaging free
radicals.

3) Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencils

Made with a double-dose of premium micronized pigments, this lip pencil
delivers a modern matte look. This lip color delivers super antioxidant
resveratrol, which fights free radicals with potent long-term antiaging
benefits. Each lip pencil contains the amount of resveratrol found in
five glasses of red wine.

It Cosmetics Claims They Have Your Lash Extensions in a Tube (Beauty Review)

January 28, 2015 Katie Marie 11 Comments

It’s the middle of the week already. Wow! My week has just flown by, in a very good way. I hope your week is going well, also!

Today I have a review of a newly released product — at least, I just started seeing it pop up at my local Ulta. Since I had mixed feelings about mascara, I thought it best to post my review of it sooner rather than later, to give y’all a heads up on it. 🙂

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I spent a lovely couple of days with my husband. 🙂 So since I’ve been traveling a bunch this past month, I thought it’d be fun to share with you all the products that I took with me. 🙂

I won’t ramble on too much, I promise — I’m just going to go over all the products and tell you why I brought them.

My Top 5 — Nude Lipsticks

January 23, 2015 Katie Marie 9 Comments

I love wearing a dark lip, but on those normal, natural days, nude lipsticks are what I wear more often than not. And there are so many different types of nudes out there! So these are 5 of my top favorite nude lip products.

Top 5 Nude Lips for Light Medium Skintone // FromMyVanity.comThese nudes vary from a pinky-nude to a more brown-nude, but all of them are ones that I love and feel look flattering on my light, yellowish skintone. These are in no particular order. 🙂 I’ve also swatched them all on my arm so that you could see how different, yet nude they are.

Top 5 Nude Lips for Light Medium Skintone // Arm Swatches // FromMyVanity.comThey show up a tad different on my lips — because the pigmentation on my lips are different then that on my arm — so I’ll include swatches of my lips for tthe lipsticks, too.

1. Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Sable

I received this in a 4-peice set over the holidays and, unfortunately, I just discovered that it was a limited edition color. So I’m really sorry for including a color that you can no longer get…but it’s still a beautiful color so I’ll go ahead and share it with you. 🙂

Top 5 Nude Lips for Light Medium Skintone // Bite Beauty in Sable // FromMyVanity.comThis shows up a very pinky-nude on my and is perfect for those days where I want to have some color on my lips, but nothing too bright or pinky. And this is the perfect shade for me.

2. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’ve recently discovered NYX’s Soft Matte Lip cream and have been loving them. I don’t think it will be long before I have the entire line!

Top 5 Nude Lips for Light Medium Skintone // NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stolkholm // FromMyVanity.comI always have a partiality toward matte lips — I don’t know why, I just like how it looks. So the fact that these are matte, but feel much more moisturizing and soft then a typical matte lippie…I’m in love. This color in Stockholm is that perfect nude, slightly tan, color that I’m looking for when I want all the drama to be on my eyes. And if I’m not feeling it so matte, I top it off with a sheer, pinky lipgloss and it really adds something special and beautiful to the nude lip look.

3. Maybelline The Buffs Lipstick in Lust

Top 5 Nude Lips for Light Medium Skintone // Maybelline The Buffs Lipstick in Lust // FromMyVanity.comThis is the sheerest nude lipstick that I own, and I like it for when my lips are really dry and I don’t want to put any color on my lips. I use this color in Nude Embrace and while it doesn’t give the appearance of a lipstick, it still gives the shine and tint of color that I want when going out. And it’s much more moisturizing than some of the other lipsticks I own.

4. Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nude Embrace

Can you tell I love matte lipsticks? This is the nude lip I reach for on the days that my lips are very moisturized and healthy and it gives me that really nude look.

Top 5 Nude Lips for Light Medium Skintone // Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nude Embrace // FromMyVanity.comAnd sometimes if my lips are dry I’ll just top it off with a moisturizing lipgloss and it smoothes over any dry patches.

5. Rimmel Exaggerate Full-Color Lip Liner in Natural

(Before we jump into this color, I apologize for not having a lip swatch. I somehow completely missed out on getting on. :-/)

Top 5 Nude Lips for Light Medium Skintone // Lipsticks // FromMyVanity.comNow this is a color I wear when I’m wanting to have a really brown-nude lipstick! I’ve only worn it that way a day or two, but one way that I do like to wear it is to give my lips an ombre kind of look using this liner to outline my lips, fill in the sides a bit, and then top it off with the Maybelline the Buffs lipstick I mentioned above. That’s a really pretty nude lip that I’ve really been enjoying recently as we’re starting to welcome summer here in Cali. 🙂

Top 5 Nude Lips for Light Medium Skintone // Lipstick Closeup // FromMyVanity.comAnd that’s it! That was really fun to search through my lipstick collection and see what I have. Did you all find it interesting or helpful?

Let me know in the comments below if you like this new series, “Top 5”. And what do you want to see next? Eyeliners? Blushes? Mauve Lipsticks?

Easy French Manicure at Home! (Nail Tutorial)

January 21, 2015 Katie Marie 32 Comments

I love painting my nails — who doesn’t?! — and my favorite go-to for a classy look is an easy french manicure. It’s so clean, professional, and will go with whatever outfit you happen to wear.
This is such an easy 'DIY' French Manicure Tutorial -- I can totally do this! | FromMyVanity.comBut, if you were anything like me a couple years ago…I royally failed at getting it to look like it was professionally done. Until about a year ago when I started doing my french manicures a different way. Now I get clean, polished, professional white tips every time! 🙂  So let’s jump right into it!

IT Cosmetics is on QVC’s TSV with their “New Year, Your Most Beautiful Skin” collection!

January 19, 2015 Katie Marie 3 Comments

While I love a variety of brands and I’m one of those girls who uses about 50 different brands when doing my makeup (anyone else do that? Anyone? I can’t be the only one!), It Cosmetics is one of those brands that stands out, in my mind, as having a lot of great products that I’ve loved over the years.

Yes, I’ve experienced a few duds (a review on one is coming soon, btw) — every brand does, more or less, but their outstanding products far outweigh the bad. And I love that, while they are high-end, they’re always featuring new products on QVC and offering it for an amazingly low price.

And that’s the news I’m excited to share with you today! They’re currently on QVC’s website as their featured Today’s Special Value —- and the best part is that all the products in this collection are brand new, never before seen!! 😀

Today’s Special Value — $59.94
