Project Pan – Finish 7 By Spring RESULTS

April 6, 2016 Katie Marie 32 Comments

Project Pans are so much fun to watch, and this Finish 7 By Spring was more of a challenge than anticipated. I reached the end of my Finish 7 By Spring challenge and I’m here to share the results! This ended back on March 21st, but I am just now able to post about it. I’ve been looking forward to sharing my experience with this challenge — it was definitely harder than I had anticipated (as I’m sure you can guess from the NYX blush there, haha!) But let’s jump in and see how I did with all the different products and whether I would repurchase them or not.

Feel free to click to my original post when I began the challenge to see where I started from and to give you a better idea of how much I was able to use up in about 3 months.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Finally finished the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder! The first product I was able to finish off was this Rimmel powder. I had already hit major pan on it — as you know — when I began this challenge so wasn’t concerned at all about getting through this one. I really like this as a light, translucent setting powder all over my face and already have a back up ready to go. ๐Ÿ™‚

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer

A very well used Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer! This was actually a lot harder to use up than I had anticipated. I said in my original post I had about 1/3 of the product left and since it’s a pore-filling primer I only use it on the apples of my cheeks. So, because of this, you don’t need a lot of product and even though I used this every day once I started this challenge, I think I finished it only a few days before the first day of spring. Came in right under the wire! Would I repurchase? No, I didn’t enjoy the feel of this type of pore-filling primer as much as I had anticipated. But I finished it! That’s what counts here! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

Almost finished with this Maybelline gel liner!I wish I had taken a picture of this when I started the challenge, but I hadn’t hit pan yet. So I made a LOT of headway with this one, and just barely missed finishing it off. There’s just a thin layer all around the sides that I have to use up now. If you want to know when I do finally finish it, follow me on Snapchat or Facebook — I’ll share the news there. ๐Ÿ™‚ This is already my second jar of this product, so yes of course I will repurchase, It’s my holy grail!

LORAC POREfection Baked Perfecting Powder

Hitting pan on this LORAC Baked face powder feels great!I was surprised and disappointed that I wasn’t able to finish this powder up, but oh well. I had just hit pan on it when I started, so I made a lot of headway. This was just a lot deeper than I had anticipated. While it’s a great powder, I don’t have plans to repurchase anytime soon. I have a lot in my drawer to go through and I didn’t find this super life-changing.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

Urban Decay's Naked Skin Foundation is a holy grail item for me!As you can see (I hope) this foundation bottle is completely used up! I unscrewed it and drained the last of the contents from it. I’ve long been a fan of this foundation. It gives a lot of coverage, but still allows for a natural finish. I am not going to repurchase in the near future, because I have SO many foundations that I am currently using, but I will buy it again. ๐Ÿ™‚

Bite Beauty Lipstick Duo

This Bite Beauty duo is so moisturizing! So, halfway through the challenge I stopped trying to finish the light pink side of this lipstick. It just didn’t look good on my, I felt, and I was only wearing it around the house — so I could finish it up, lol. So I just focused on the nude pink end and was able to finish it easily. I plan to give this tube to my younger sisters to use the other side. ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t plan to repurchase either shade — I have another Bite Beauty nude shade I am totally loving at the moment.

NYX Blush in Dusty Rose

The discontinued NYX blush shade in Dusty RoseAh, now we come to the most frustrating product that I tried to finish in this Finish 7 By Spring! I promise, I used this every day but still couldn’t finish it off. I couldn’t even hit pan! And I’ve owned and used this a LOT for at least two years. It’s like the blush that cannot die, haha! I am pretty sure this color/line is discontinued, so I won’t be repurchasing it, but whenever I DO finish it, I plan to purchase another NYX blush. ๐Ÿ™‚

And there you have it! I was able to completely use 4 products, nearly done with 2, and am taking a break from the last product for a while before I pull it back out to try to use up. I just need something different for a while!

Not as good as I had hoped for this 7 by spring challenge — I wanted to finish everything — but I finished some, which is better than none! Have you finished any beauty products recently?

It's harder to Finish 7 By Spring than I anticipated!

I purchased all products on my own. I was not compensated for writing this post. All thoughts are 100% my own. Any questions about my disclosure, read here. :-) Thank you for your support!

This is a FANTASTIC idea! I did a no-makeup spend for the first three months of the year in an effort to use up some products I had, but it was so hard to stay on top of the beauty products because I wasn’t buying any! I might adopt your idea and try to hit pan on products but still let myself buy some!

Yeah, girl, I hear you! It’s so hard, as a beauty blogger, to do a no-buy because I feel behind on things! But this challenge was still hard because I did have to try out new products while trying to use these up. It was fun, though!

OK I definitely laughed at your battle versus the NYX blush. I started a project Pan recently (although I might have gotten a bit ahead of myself with how many I chose) and I have been working on a MAC blush nearly daily since July and finally put it in my ‘project pan’… I feel like I’m going to get a whole other 6 months out of it because it seriously lasts FOREVERRRR.

I definitely like how varied your products are too. Mine were mostly eyeshadows.

Haha, that blush just wouldn’t die! It wouldn’t even hit pan for me! ๐Ÿ˜› Crushed me hopes. Hahahaha, glad to hear I wasn’t the only one!

This is a super great idea, I really need to challenge my self to something similar, I have hoarded more than I’ll ever use because I just like stashing away cute looking makeup and hate wearing makeup on a daily basis ๐Ÿ˜›

It’s so easy to get a large stock pile of makeup products because there is always new products coming out that are just TOO pretty to resist, haha!

Wow, you have done so well with finishing all of those, hitting pan is horrible when you like a product so much x

Oh, I know!!! I just hit pan on the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye setting powder, the pressed version, and I kind of cried a little. I LOVE it for my under eyes and I’ve just flown through it so far! Now I’ll probably cut back to make it last longer, haha!

Such a fun little challenge! I love that you were wearing that lighter lipstick around the house to try to finish it off! And the blush that won’t die! haha! Great post, Katie! ๐Ÿ™‚

I still think you did really well – makeup is so hard to finish up!! I really struggle finishing lip products and blusher, especially.

You made so much progress! That takes determination, for sure. I have a habit of not using products once I start to get low or hit pan and I can’t figure out why, haha. I definitely have a ton that I need to finish. Great job!

YES! I totally do that, too! And then I get all these products I’ve hit pan on just getting old. I need to just keep using it and not freak out when I am getting close to finishing it, lol!

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a powder so empty as that Rimmel one! Congrats! It’s so satisfying, isn’t it? That NYX color is gorgeous. Too bad it’s discontinued!

Haha, I used that baby up! I loved it for under my eyes, so I was able to really get it around the edges. Once it got too little, though, it broke up and fell everywhere, so I tossed the remaining tiny pieces, lol

When you love a foundation/bb cream, you really fly through it! I, personally, wear makeup on the daily, so when I get in a rut with a foundation, it doesn’t take much to finish!

Hey that’s still pretty good in my book! Project pans are hard to complete, especially with powders, bronzers, and blushes! They take forever!!

Using up products, especially blush, is so hard! I go through powder, concealer, and eyeliner pretty frequently, but I swear I’ve never finished a blush or bronzer in my life lol
