Project Pan – Finish 7 by Spring

February 1, 2016 Katie Marie 30 Comments

Project Pan: Finish 7 by Spring // #Panning #ProjectPan FromMyVanity.comI’ve never done something like this, but I am eager to give it a go! I stumbled across this “Finish 7 by Spring” challenge on Youtube when one of the gals I follow posted a project pan video showing what she was going to try to finish up before the first day of spring, and after binge-watching a ton of project pan videos, I was inspired to join in on the challenge! Want to see what I’m going to try to finish up before March 20th? Keep reading… ๐Ÿ™‚

Since this is the first time I am participating in a project pan, I decided to go a little ‘easy’ and pick 7 things from my collection that I had mostly finished up before it got ‘lost’ in my makeup drawers. Let’s dive right in!

My Project Pan – Finish 7 by Spring

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure Primer

Project Pan: Finish 7 by Spring // Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer // #Panning #ProjectPan FromMyVanity.comThis is probably pretty obvious…but I’ve had this primer for a while! ๐Ÿ˜› I was really excited about it when I first purchased it, but since then I’ve just moved on to a different type of primer and don’t really reach for this one as much. There is probably 1/3 of this product left, so here’s hoping I finally use it up and get my money’s worth out of it.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

Project Pan: Finish 7 by Spring //Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation // #Panning #ProjectPan FromMyVanity.comThis is my second bottle of this foundation, I loved it so much I repurchased it the moment I ran out before! But in the past 6 months I’ve been trying — and loving — so many new foundations, I haven’t reached for this one in a while. There isn’t a whole lot left — maybe 1/8th of the bottle — so this one shouldn’t be hard to finish off in this project pan challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Project Pan: Finish 7 by Spring // Rimmel Stay Matte Powder // #Panning #ProjectPan FromMyVanity.comAs you can see, not much left of this! I use this to set my under eye concealer, so use it quiet often. While there doesn’t seem to be much left, when you’re only using it on your under eyes…it takes a while to get through! I hit pan a LONG time ago. So here’s hoping I can finish it this time!

LORAC POREfectionBaked Perfecting Powder

Project Pan: Finish 7 by Spring // LORAC POREfection Powder // #Panning #ProjectPan FromMyVanity.comI can’t believe I’ve already hit pan on this product — I got it less than 6 months ago — but that shows you how much I like it! Because it’s a lighter shade, though, I want to hurry up and use it before the warmer season gets here and I start tanning again!

NYX Blush in Dusty Rose

Project Pan: Finish 7 by Spring // NYX Blush in Dusty Rose // #Panning #ProjectPan FromMyVanity.comI’m a little apprehensive over whether I can finish this or not…I’ve had this blush for at least 3 years and I still haven’t hit pan. But! Here’s hoping if I devote the next two months to using it, I’ll be able to add it to my beauty empties pile!

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner

Project Pan: Finish 7 by Spring // Maybelline Studio Eye Gel Liner Pot // #Panning #ProjectPan FromMyVanity.comThis is another favorite of mine, for sure! But I went through a kick towards the end of last year to try out new gel pots and because of that, I haven’t been reaching for my HG one as much and it’s starting to get a little dried out. So, yeah, I want to hurry up and finish it so I don’t waste any product. ๐Ÿ™‚

Bite Beauty Lipstick Duo

Project Pan: Finish 7 by Spring // Bite Beauty Lipstick Duo // #Panning #ProjectPan FromMyVanity.comThis was my first Bite Beauty purchase, and I want to say it was over a year ago. The colors are gorgeous, but because I have so many neutral lipsticks — and more Bite Beauty — I want to finish this up. It’s always great to finish a lipstick. I think that’s only happened once or twice before!

And those are my picks! I plan to do an update post after March 20th to go over all 7 items and share with you if I finished them or not — and if I plan to repurchase. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m really excited to be participating in this project pan! It always feels like such a huge accomplishment to finish up a makeup product!

Have you ever participated in any sort of Project Pan challenge? I saw the Pan that Palette, too, and am contemplating that for next year. A whole palette finished in a year — that’s impressive! Have you ever finished an eyeshadow palette? The only one I ever used completely up was this one from the drugstore (It’s a palette in my book ๐Ÿ˜› )

I’ve never tried anything like this before & I’m definitely interested in seeing if you make it or not! Blushes are always hard for me to use up! Love the idea of this challenge; I should do something like this as I have way too many ‘almost used up’ products.

I will be sharing my results of this project pan after the first day of spring. I will say, though, that it was a lot harder to do than I had anticipated. Being a makeup reviewer makes it hard to use a product consistently!

You’re off to a good start on just about all of them. I have most of those Bite Beauty double-ended lippies and they’re really tiny. Although one of the bullets broke off on one of them, I still haven’t finished ’em up either. Go girl!

What a great idea! I really need to think about doing the same with some of my eye products. I know they don’t last FOREVER and most of them I haven’t touched in awhile!

I know, mascaras and liners are hard to fully get your moneys worth out of when you have a lot of them, but I’m trying, lol!

Fun challenge. Other than my foundation and mascara, I’m pretty sure I never use anything until it’s empty!

I can’t wait to see if you use all of these items up Katie. I’m doing this on my YouTube channel with a bunch of other vloggers. However, we are doing it for an entire year so hopefully I’ll have a chance at using up my items.

I watched your video, and *almost* joined in, but decided to ease into this whole ‘project pan’ thing. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve discovered it’s a bit harder than I had anticipated, being a beauty blogger!

This sounds like so much fun! I would love to do something like this as it would be a great way to really use up some product! I really like the Rimmel Stay Matte, too. I use it for my tzones and it works like a charm!

It’s been a fun experience, though a lot harder than I anticipated, lol. I think being a beauty blogger and having to constantly try new makeup amps up the difficulty level ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ve never done any sort of formal Project Pan challenge, but this is actually a philosophy I have when I do my own makeup. I’ll create a look and commit to using those products for an entire season, and then see how far I’ve come with them. I may not finish them — just hitting pan would be an accomplishment for me — but it feels good to actually commit and put those products away with some use. Stick with it, it’s awesome!

Hitting pan always feels like such a huge accomplishment! I really need to do that more often — even if I’m not doing a ‘project pan’ I can still commit to using one product for a period of time, like you do. I really want to see if I can use up that blush — I’ve had it for forever and been using it a TON and I’ve never hit pan!

I want to join! Only, I cannot wear makeup right now and am not sure how long my derm will bar it. Maybe finish 7 by Summer… let’s see.

Oh bummer, that stinks! I currently am dealing with a sty in my eye and my hubby (a doc) says no makeup until it heals. So tough!

I get so distracted by the new and shiny – I can’t remember the last time I finished a product. I need to do this and more of ‘shopping my stash’ instead of being seduced by the pretties. I think it’s smart that you picked some products that you already knew you loved, and could realistically finish!

I am right there with you — it’s a struggle to not buy up everything that’s feature on the new displays at the drugstore or Ulta!

Great challenge. I’d never be able to do it so I can’t wait to see if you can. With some of your items I’m betting yes but the blush is going to be tough.

You called it! That blush I’ve been using for a couple years and have never hit pan on….and using it every day since this project started I STILL have not hit pan. It’s like the blush that can’t be killed, haha!

Lip products are hard for me — I just have the one lipstick, but I was only able to ‘pan’ one side of it. I guess out of all my makeup, lipsticks are sometimes the one I’ll go without or forget to apply.
