Good morning, beautiful! Today I have something of a different post to share with you all — it’s a fall-inspired face of the day post! I’ve never done one of these before, so would love to hear your feedback on how you liked it. But, for now, let’s dive right into the post!
And, in case you’ve forgotten, I’m participating in the #BBCChallenge that happens at the end of every month. I didn’t do last month (traveling), but I am back and into the swing of things with this month’s challenge — the Fall Challenge! This is not going to be a tutorial, like I’ve typically done in the past, but just a quick walk-through of all the products I used as well as how I applied them.

Since I was going so bold with the eyes and lips, I decided to aim for really flawless, poreless skin. So for my FACE I used the YLS primer (good stuff!) and Jouer foundation. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint on here before, but I really, really like the results I get with it — and it lasts all day! I had a few breakouts around my chin and my under eyes were pretty dark so I grabbed the NARS concealer and then set everything with the amazing AirSpun loose face powder — that stuff is the bomb! I use it almost every day and yet it never seems to run out! Then all I did was contour my cheeks out, added a touch of blush, and then finished off with a bit of highlighter on my cheekbones and just above my cupids bow.
Moving on to my EYES, I started with my trusty and holy grail eyeshadow primer and blended out a bit of Bad to the Bronze on top to help the colors stand out more. Okay, so for the shadows from the Semi-Sweet palette I used Peanut Butter in the crease and warmed up the outer corner a bit more with a mixture of Mousse and Truffled. From there I used my finger to pack the color Bon Bon all over the lid and then darkened and blended out the outer corner with Hot Fudge. Oh! And can’t forget to highlight the browbone withΒ Coconut Creme. From there I just winged out my liner, applied a black pencil to my tightline and waterline, and then amped up my lashes with the awesome GrandeLASH duo.
The LIPS were super simple. I’ve been wanting to wear the vampy brick red/brown liquid lipstick from Milani. So pretty, right?!
And that is all there is to this look — not too hard, right? But it looks complicated and beautiful. I got stopped at the grocery store the day I wore this look (yeah, that’s where I go looking like this….to the grocery store, lol) and was told my eyes looked stunning. π Always a nice feeling to get complimented on an eye look!
I have been having So much fun using the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette to create fun looks. It’s so appropriate for fall, in my opinion! Any other colors you would like me to use to create a look with this palette? I think the next time I’m going to play with that blue shade. It’s not the most pigmented, but I’m determined to find a way to make it show up as pigmented and beautiful on my eye lids as in the pan. π
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this post. I’ve never done something like this before — should I keep doing it? Should I stick to tutorials? Let me know in the comments below!
And don’t forget to check out the other ladies Fall-Inspired posts who participated in this month’s challenge! And if you want to jump in on this challenge, feel free to create a look (hair, makeup, nails….whatever it is, just has to be fall-inspired!) and use the hashtag #BBCChallenge so we can see!

Katie Garvin says
I can’t wait to get my hands on more shades from the Milani liquid lipstick line. I just can’t find these ANYWHERE where I live *sad face* Have to be patient…..lol
Christine says
WOW!!! Talk about the perfect look for Fall! You look incredibly gorgeous in this picture. I’m dying over both the eyes and the lips!!
Katie Garvin says
Aww, thank you Christine! It was such a fun look to create — it was the first one I did when I got this Semi-Sweet palette and I just LOVED how the color popped on my lids and was so fall-appropriate. I had to recreate it for this post. π
And I am SO in love with dark, vampy lips. My hubs isn’t a fan of the dark lips, but he likes when I at least wear them in the liquid lipsticks formula so they don’t transfer onto him when we kiss, LOL π

Beautiful look! Perfectly blended (I need help with that!) The burnt orange shades are so gorgeous. And I thought I recognized that Milani liquid matte lippie coz I just swatched it – it looks so much better on you than on me.
Katie Garvin says
Thank you, Allison! I love the burnt orange — its so fall-inspired. Reminds me of crushed leaves, lol π
There are a lot of colors in the line and this is the only one I’ve been able to find. I can’t wait until they come out permanent so I can find more shades!!

Get it! If you can find it, lol — this is the only shade I’ve found that works on me. I want to try the more neutral colors in this line.
