What’s in my BoxyCharm October Box!

BoxyCharm's October Unboxing & Mini Reviews // About this Month's Box, Info Card // #BoxyCharm FromMyVanity.comIf you’ve never signed up for a beauty subscription box, it’s like getting a birthday present in the mail every month! It’s awesome! This month’s box was all the many different ‘faces’ of you. 🙂 I thought it was very appropriate considering Halloween is right around the corner now. I was actually surprised there wasn’t anything really different or intriguing about this box. While everything has black packaging, you’ll see that not much can be used to ‘create’ any sort of costume. But I’m getting ahead of myself, let’s look at the first product!

BoxyCharm's October Unboxing & Mini Reviews // Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara // #BoxyCharm FromMyVanity.comDoucce Punk Volumizer Mascara // Full Size // This mascara is supposed to give you separation, length, and lots of volume. I definitely agree with the claims of this mascara. I was surprised and pleased to see that it didn’t clump my lashes together and gave me nice volume and length. It will flake a bit throughout the day, and if you rub your eyes, so keep that in mind. It wasn’t anything out-of-this-world volumizing, but definitely a mascara that I will get a lot of use out of for an every day mascara.

BoxyCharm's October Unboxing & Mini Reviews // Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask // #BoxyCharm FromMyVanity.comPalmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask // Full Size // I love getting expensive skincare in my subscription boxes because it lets me try something I otherwise probably would never have purchased. With this mask, I wanted to like it….but I found that the fragrance was too strong. And scents don’t typically bother me, but with this mask I felt it was giving me the wrong ‘tingle’ on the skin, due to the fragrance. I didn’t experience any negative results from using this once (which is good) but I’m not sure if I’ll be trying it again anytime soon.

BoxyCharm's October Unboxing & Mini Reviews // Cult Cosmetics Nail Polish // #BoxyCharm FromMyVanity.comCult Cosmetics Nail Polish in Boneyards // Full Size // I love a good nail polish — especially one in this color. It’s very fall/winter appropriate, in my book. I couldn’t wait to get it on my nails! The quality of this polish is great. Two coats is all you need and the color is opaque and beautiful. I like this polish and will use it a lot this winter!

BoxyCharm's October Unboxing & Mini Reviews // Bellapierre Cheek And Lip Stain // #BoxyCharm FromMyVanity.comBellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain in Coral // Full Size // I’m honestly not much of a cream face product type of gal, so I couldn’t get super-excited about this product. But I did give it a try! I applied it both to my lips and cheeks and….I just found it too waxy to ever really set. And the color is so light, I couldn’t detect any type of staining. Maybe it’d be nicer for a gal just getting into makeup to play around with — I plan to pass this on to my younger sisters to use as they start their ‘makeup journey’, but I honestly wasn’t very impressed.

BoxyCharm's October Unboxing & Mini Reviews // Lord & BErry Line/Shade Eyeliner // #BoxyCharm FromMyVanity.comLord & Berry Line/Shade Eyeliner in Dark Black // Full Size // I love a good eyeliner, and have heard of this line before so was excited and curious to see how this turned out. The formula is very black and creamy, and when used as a base and blended out, it works well — as long as you set it with a shadow. If you don’t set this (say you’re just lining your eyes or putting it in your waterline)….this is definitely going to move, smudge, crease and come off if touched. And I let it ‘set’ on my eyes half the morning! I don’t know how they can claim this is waterproof. P:-/ But I did find it had a faint staining effect — to remove the color completely from my hands/eyes soap and water didn’t cut it.

BoxyCharm's October Unboxing & Mini Reviews // Eyeliner & Lip Stain Swatches // #BoxyCharm FromMyVanity.comHere are swatches of the eye liner and lip/cheek stain. As you can see, the Lord & Berry liner was very creamy and opaque, which is what I look for in a liner, but not sure how much use I will get out of it since it doesn’t set well. And the stain was a pretty color, if you’re into cream face products.

The Value of my October Box

Math time! Let’s see how much this BoxyCharm October box was worth!

  • Palmetto Derma Mask — $64
  • Doucce Punk Mascara — $24
  • Bellapierre Cheek & Lip Stain — $19.99
  • Lord & Berry Eyeliner — $18
  • Cult Cosmetics Nail Polish — $12

TOTAL = $137.99

As usual, the value of their box exceeds $100, which is impressive. I wish the contents of the box were a little more exciting, a little more fall or Halloween themed, but I did like the all-black aspect of it. 🙂
