Top 5 Spring Makeup Products (Collab with The Beauty Section)

April 6, 2015 Katie Marie 12 Comments

Good Monday morning! I know it’s the start of another long week….*sigh*….but I hope my post brightens your day, because we’re talking all about Spring today.

top-5-spring-makeup-products-collab-the-beauty-section-pageAnd to make it even better, my friend Anna from The Beauty Section is collaborating with me on this post! We’ve both selected our top 5 spring makeup products that we have been wearing. So if you want to see what 5 products I picked, keep reading!

My Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Picks for Spring

These are in no particular order!

Light-Weight Foundations

top-5-spring-makeup-products-collab-the-beauty-section-light-foundationsFor those of you who’ve been following me for a while, you know that while I have been able to get my acne under control, I still have some significant hyper-pigmentation left behind from the acne spots. So while I am not the type who can go foundation-free during the spring, I do like to cut back a bit and wear lighter foundations. My top picks are Urban Decay’s Naked Skin foundation and Maybelline’s Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch foundation — both a high end and drugstore option for you. I reviewed the Urban Decay foundation here, if you’re curious to hear me rave about it for an entire post. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Cream Blushes

top-5-spring-makeup-products-collab-the-beauty-section-page-blushesI didn’t try cream blushes until last summer, but I totally loved it and am bringing them back for my spring makeup! It helps keep your skin looking dewy and fresh all day long. My picks are the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushes. I have two colors here, but all of them are beautiful. As you can see, I got a lot of use out of one of them last year and am ready to break in the newest blush. ๐Ÿ™‚ They’re both so beautiful and just scream “spring makeup”, don’t you agree?

Pop of Color on the Eyes

top-5-spring-makeup-products-collab-the-beauty-section-page-colourpopI think my favorite trend to implement in my spring makeup is keeping my eyes really simple, winging it out, and then adding a pop of color on my lower lash line. My favorite shadows to use for this are definitely the ColorPop Eyeshadows. They’re so pigmented, you don’t have to use a similar-color eyeliner underneath it if you don’t have it. Aren’t they just gorgeous?! I have a whole review on these ColorPop shadows that you can read here.

Pink Lipsticks

top-5-spring-makeup-products-collab-the-beauty-section-page-lippiesMy hubby loves when I wear pinky lipsticks, and I like to pull them out in the summer. With everything around me looking so vibrant and beautiful, I love my lips to reflect that. My top picks — both from the drugstore and high end — are Rimmel Show Off Matte lipstick in Atomic Rose, Jing Ai Velvet Lip Shine in Pink Star, and Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Lovely. I highly recommend them all, just depends on what kind of finish you are going for. What’s your favorite lipstick finish? Matte? Metallic? High shine?

Pastel Nail Polishes

top-5-spring-makeup-products-collab-the-beauty-section-nailpolishLast, but certainly not least, is one that is *technically* not makeup, but still deserves to be under my spring makeup, in my opinion. Because where would we be without pretty polishes! These beautiful, vibrant pastel polishes are Rimmel’s 60 Second nail polishes. Have you tried these yet? They really do dry within a minute and look beautiful on the nails! I haven’t tried the yellow one yet, but want to next!

Those are my top 5 picks for spring makeup. What about you? Do we have similar tastes with anything? If not, share with me what makeup product you love to use most during the spring!

And don’t forget to check out The Beauty Section‘s post today so you can see Anna’s top 5 spring makeup picks!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE Colour Pop eye shadows! They are ridiculously pigmented and beautiful. I haven’t tried anything else that you mentioned, but I love pink lip products and pastel polishes, so thanks for some new recommendations! So excited for spring to finally get here!

Yes, ColourPop products are awesome! And they keep coming out with new things, too. I hear a highlighter is the next thing to keep an eye out for ๐Ÿ™‚

Yay! So glad we did our fist collab together! It turned out great and you have some really great picks! I have definitely heard a ton about the ColorPop eye shadows, I really need to try them. And I have heard a ton about the UD Naked Skin Foundation… definitely something to look into!

Yeah, you really should! And at only $5, you can really try out a lot of things in the line (well, blushes are a wee bit more). The UD Naked is my holy grail when it comes to foundations. I love it!

I am also a big fan of the dream wonder foundation! In fact, this has reminded me to pull that bad boy out now that it is spring!

Haha, I am the same way — I forget about certain products, and then when I rediscover them I wonder why I ever stopped using them in the first place ๐Ÿ˜›

I love but always forgot about my cream blushes for the spring and summer. I really need to break them out and use them more often. I’ve heard wonderful things about the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushes, and I will have to pick a couple up once I make my way through my other cream blushes.

I am really bad at remembering, too! Sometimes I will be just setting my face when I remember I wanted to use my cream blushes. But! On the days I DO remember, I love the effect ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah, definitely give them a try, girl! Get a good stippling brush (I recommend the ones from ELF) and you can’t go wrong with it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Especially if you’re wanting to go for a natural blushed effect. ๐Ÿ™‚
