Majestical earrings to add to your jewelry collection! (Review)

February 15, 2014 Katie Marie 7 Comments

I’ve been doing a lot of planning this week — I can’t wait to share with y’all what I have scheduled for LoaW this year! But for now, I have one more review to share with y’all this week. If you like statement piece and big jewelry, then you’re going to be really interested in this website! πŸ™‚

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

These Teardrop Dazzle Earrings will look fabulous on you!

Four dangling gold colored drops hang approximately 3 inches.

My Review…

I was thrilled to get these gold dangle earrings in the mail the other day! πŸ™‚ On first impression, they seemed a big larger than what I am used to, but I was up to trying it out!

They wear really well in your ears. With them being about 3 inches long and looking heavy, you would think it would stretch and/or hurt your ear lobe. But they are actually quiet light! There are four teardrop-shaped pieces on each earring and, for me, it dangled down to hit above my shoulder. They wear very comfortably in my ears and weren’t loud or distracting at all. They do clank together when you move, but not very loud.

I, personally, do not tend to wear large earrings or statement necklaces, but I’m not opposed to trying the style out! Which is why I was very happy to get the opportunity to review a product from Majestical Jewelry. I feel that these earrings would be better if you had a matching gold chain necklace to go along with it. Pairing that with a solid top would look very pretty, I think. Unfortunately, I don’t have a gold necklace, but it’s now on my ‘to look for’ list and I look forward to wearing it with these earrings on some occasion.

So, my final thoughts on this product. At first appearance they seem a little clunky, but I think they grew on me. I like them and look forward to finding a necklace to go with them. And for the price — under $10 — these earring are pretty nicely made. They would be a great addition to your jewelry collection.

Majestical Jewelry has very affordable prices for their jewelry. I would definitely check out their website if you are in need of some statement pieces to go along with your outfits.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Support your Military Significant Other with These Special Bracelets! (Review & Giveaway)

January 20, 2014 Katie Marie 12 Comments

I am really excited to feature this lovely Etsy shop today! Not only is the jewelry beautiful, but her bracelets mean something extra special to every Military wife/fiance/girlfriend out there.

Shannah’s Etsy shop is called Owl Meets Fox, but her banner proudly proclaims where she stands in the different military branches with a loud, “Our Love is Semper Fi”.

Shannah started this shop back in 2012 for a wonderful reason. In her own words… “I started this shop so that milsos could support their men even if they are far away. Nothing says “I’m waiting for you” better than wearing something that supports him!”

For those of you who don’t know, I am going to become a military wife in April. *smile* So when I saw her silver Navy bracelet, I got excited! It came in the mail a few weeks ago, and I’ve been really excited to share my thoughts about it with you all! πŸ™‚

She’s only got four different bracelets available right now — “Army”, “USMC”, “Navy”, and “USAF” — but she plans to expand her shop in the near future. So stay tuned to see what else she comes out with! πŸ˜‰

My Review…

The bracelet arrived strung around this really pretty card. It was a nice way to not only display the bracelet, but also to ensure it doesn’t tangle during shipping.

As you can see from the picture, she writes “our love is ocean deep” and also includes a bible verse at the bottom. These special little touches really made her Etsy shop stand out to me — I love when things are taken to the next step, even if just a little bit, and personalized this way.

As for the bracelet itself, it’s a really nice, shiny silver wire that makes up the words, and then just a traditional chain for the rest of the bracelet. While I think it is very well made, I also think it’s a very delicate, dainty piece of jewelry. Because of the wire used to write out the names, I wouldn’t recommend wearing this bracelet for any occasion — especially the situation is rather rough. I tend to wear it when I am going out and not so much when I am cleaning or cooking around the house. Again, let me say, this is just my own thoughts and how I personally think for my bracelet. My “Navy” bracelet hasn’t become bent, twisted, or ‘unwound’ in any way since I got it.

All in all, I think these bracelets are great! And she sells them for very reasonable prices. You can’t ask for a better way to support your soldier then getting a “Army” or “USMC” bracelet for under ten dollars! πŸ˜‰

I received this bracelet from Owl Meets Fox in order to review on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products I personally liked.

The Giveaway…

Shannah has very generously offered one of her bracelets as a giveaway for one of the followers of my blog! πŸ˜€ The winner get’s to choose any of the bracelets in her Etsy Shop. Make sure you check out all of Shannah’s social media spots, too!

Eat a SoyJoy Fruit Bar & Paint Your Nails with Triple Shine! (Beauty Review)

December 18, 2013 Katie Marie 7 Comments

Today I’m going to be reviewing two of the products that came in my Voilet Voxbox from Influenster. πŸ™‚ They’re both rather short reviews, so I thought it fitting to combine them together.

About SOYJOY Baked Whole Soy & Fruit Bar…

Unwrap the perfect snack! SOYJOY offers complete protein, complex carbohydrates, and fiber; all 7 SOYJOY varieties are all-natural, certified gluten-free, and just 130-140 calories per bar. Baked with ground whole non-GMO soybeans and real fruit pieces, SOYJOY is a great on-the-go option that raises the bar on snacking. SOYJOY is full of joy, not junk!

My Review…

The Bar, Packaging, & Taste…
I’ve seen these bars around before, but haven’t ever had the opportunity to try one. I just took a quick look at Target and saw that for a box of 12 bars is only $12.99. Considering that these are healthy bars that are filled with nutritional ingredients that are good for you, I think that a little over a dollar a piece is a pretty good price. The wrapper that my bar came in was really thick and felt like a “good quality” wrapper…if that doesn’t sound too weird. Like, in comparison to store-brand bars and this bar, the wrapper was really thick and well-sealed. A nice perk I appreciated.

The bar is pretty dry. I could instantly tell this when I broke off a piece. This wasn’t a negative for me, since I enjoy eating bars that are too soft and squishy. It wasn’t hard (I can’t stand bars that hurt your teeth just to chew!), just dry. It broke apart easily with no mess. The bar I got to review was the Cranberry one and I thought it was delicious! It very faintly reminded me of those Fig Newtons I used to eat as a kid. And since I’ve always loved Fig Newtons, this bar was an instant win for me! πŸ™‚

Final Thoughts…
When I go to eat a snack, I always appreciate when I can eat and know that what I am putting in my body is good for me (as opposed to eating a cookie or M&Ms as a snack! :-P) This would definitely be a bar I would keep handy to throw in my purse when I am out and about on a busy day.

About Sally Hansen New Triple Shine Nail Color…

NEW Triple Shineβ„’ Nail Color from Sally Hansen! Daily defense from water and wear. Defend against the Triple Threat: Tap, Salt, and Chlorine water. Water to workout, day in and day out, nothing will dull these nails.

The gloss is protected with the Ultimate Shield Complex, exclusive to Sally Hansen, designed to help polish withstand the wear and tear of everyday living for non-stop shine. Outshine ’em all with our 30 shades!

My Review…

Product & Application…
I really enjoy painting my nails and have a large supply of nail polishes in my desk drawer, but I didn’t have a color similar to Sally Hansen’s new Triple Shine nail polish in Make Waves. I was thrilled to get this color in my Violet Voxbox. πŸ™‚ If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve tried this bottle out on a cute winter-themed nail art. I am now currently on day 4 of wearing this polish and I only have two nails (my thumbs) with major chipping. For me, personally, this is a great record! Usually nail polish only lasts a few hours — maybe a day — before chipping starts to happen. πŸ˜€

Major Likes & Dislikes…
I really liked the size of the brush on this polish! It isn’t too big, but it isn’t too small, either, and it makes it really easy to get into the corners of my nail. The top to the polish has a casing that comes off (as you can see in the picture here), which I thought was a little interesting. Not bad, not good…I just couldn’t figure out the reason for that extra top. The only downside to this polish was that its a very sheer polish. It took a lot of coats to get this how opaque I like my colors. That isn’t a really a big downside, since the layers are thin and they dry fast. And even though I did 4 or 5 coats, there wasn’t any air bubbles are funky stuff going on from so many layers. They all dried beautifully!

Final Thoughts…
I really like this polish! Depending on where you go to purchase these, they retail for about $4 or $5.

For me, this is a little expensive for nail polish — but I’m going to be on the lookout for sales and use a coupon with it.

Then it’ll be a steal and I’ll have some beautiful, shiny polishes that last to add to my collection! πŸ™‚

I received this product from Influenster for free in order to review. It was not required that I give a positive review, but solely to express my own thoughts and opinions of this product, which I have done. I only recommend products and/or services that I have personally used or experienced and that I believe will be good for my readers.

“Ultra” Palmolive’s new Fresh Infusion Dish Soaps! (Influenster, Review)

February 22, 2013 Katie Marie 2 Comments

For those of you who saw my previous post about getting another box from Influenster to review, today I am sharing with you my review for the products I got!

What did I get? Well, you can check out the first post, skip on ahead to the review and discover as you go, or just keep listening! πŸ˜‰ Influenster sent me three bottles of a new soap line that Palmolive is coming out with—Fresh Infusion Dish Liquid Soap. I really enjoyed trying out the products and seeing how they preformed compared to the original Palmolive soap that we have tried in the past.

The first thing that I really liked about the Fresh Infusion line was how good the soap smells. (haha, I know, maybe an odd thing to start my review out with…but that’s the first thing I always look for in a soap!) It isn’t just a “nice” smell—it really is kind of yummy! I received three different kinds, which were…

– Ginger White Tea
– Lemon Thyme
– Lime Basil

And they all smell good! My favorite would have to be the Lime Basil (all the way on the left, in the picture). It reminds me of a type of hard candy I had a long time ago…can’t rememberΒ exactlyΒ  but that’s what popped into my head the moment I smelled it! If I had to pick a “least favorite” scented soap, it would have to be the Ginger White Tea. Nothing wrong with it–it smells pretty good–just not a favorite. πŸ™‚

As for how they clean, I didn’t notice anything majorly “Wow, see what it cleaned!!”, but on the other hand I never had a problem scrubbing off food from the plates. It didn’t leave any kind of residue on the dishes, which was good. And while I didn’t see my dishes “sparkling”, they were really clean! What more can you ask for in a dish soap?? πŸ˜‰

I plan on looking for this dish soap next time I go to my Wal-Mart and using the coupons that Palmolive/Influenster generously sent me. Who doesn’t like a soap that is “Naturally Inspired”?? (And, just to throw this out there, they are phosphate free! πŸ™‚
I received the Palmolive soaps complimentary from Influenster. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

So glad to be hosting her again on here!!

I was thrilled when Michelle sent me one of her leather bracelets to review. The bracelet I received is on the right, and just in case you can’t clearly see what has been etched into the plate, it says…

Isn’t it beautiful? And after over 6 months of use, my bracelet still looks and feels as good as it did when I first received it. And I wear it almost on a daily basis! It really is my favorite jewelry to slip on in the morning before I start a normal day. It’s so comfortable!

Jewelry from a lady of many talents! (Giveaway)

August 8, 2012 Katie Marie 61 Comments

I’m a little late getting this post out, but no matter the time, you’ll want to listen up! If you’re a book-lover of Christian fiction and haven’t heard of Casey over at Writing for Christ, then there’s something wrong! Casey was one of the first Christian fiction book bloggers I stumbled upon and the girl who inspired me to begin blogging! So I owe her a lot! πŸ˜‰

Casey is a girl of many talents, as not only does she blog about books and is in the process of writing her own Contemporary Woman’s fiction, but she also has a jewelry-making business on the side! Yep, she’s the owner of Bug’s Beads on Etsy.

If you’ve been following Casey’s book blog, but have never looked into her jewelry, I highly recommend that you do! There are such beautiful pieces over there! Earrings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets…and she even has a new product line. It’s called “Mother and Me” and right now she has a pair of identical bracelets fit for a mother and her daughter. SO cute!! πŸ˜€

My package from Casey’s Bug’s Beads!

For this post, Casey send me this gorgeous bracelet you see on the right. I don’t own anything so delicate-looking and dainty–I just love it! The colored beads are brown, but it’s such a light shade that you can wear this bracelet with many different colors and it’d still go. And just in case you can’t see from the picture, the other beads are a white-pearl color and has silver separators on each side of the brown beads. Very simple, but beautiful, design!

As I said before, it’s a delicate, dainty looking bracelet. But don’t let looks fool you–while it looks delicate, it’s very durable and made with quality items. You can tell just by looking at it. The beads are small, and strung onto a strong and bendable wire.

A up-close look at my bracelet!

The clasps are very securely fastened to the wire. Very clean, too, I might add! No extra wire hanging out anywhere. There’s a little pendent on mine that, I think, says ‘booka’. Not sure what that means, but it’s cute and I like it!

(And, hey, it almost says “books” and since I’m a book-lover…yeah, that’s another reason why I like it! πŸ˜‰

What else is there to say? Hmm…nothing much, except that I highly recommend Casey’s Bug’s Beads to everyone both for the beauty and quality of the jewelry. This bracelet I received is perfect for adults and (because it’s so ‘dainty’) it would even look great on a young girls arm.

Casey has a lot of other pieces of jewelry over at Bug’s Beads, so I recommend you checking them out. And if you do, keep an eye out for these earrings on the right. I just discovered them…and realized how well they would go with my bracelet!

Hmm…now all I have to do is find a necklace to go with it, and I’m set!

Places you can keep in touch with Casey’s Bug’s Beads…
Etsy  /  Blog  /  Facebook

Guess what?! It’s giveaway time! Yep! Casey has generously (and sweetly!) offered to host a giveaway for one of her bracelets. It’s this pretty brown, pink, and pearl beaded one below. Isn’t it lovely?! Follow the instructions in the Rafflecopter below in order to enter!

Leather jewelry made just the way YOU want it! (Giveaway)

June 20, 2012 Katie Marie 31 Comments

Okay! I know I usually don’t post giveaways on Wednesdays, but this
was supposed to go up yesterday and I wasn’t able to post it. Ah well,
today will work just as well, and I know you won’t care its a day late
when you discover what you have the opportunity to win.

Oh yeah, keep reading! If you at all like the leather/rustic jewelry, then this is the giveaway for you! Michelle V, owner of Custom Leather Jewelry
specializes in leather cuff/bracelets that has messages etched into the
metal plates. Totally cool and makes for such special and unique
jewelry.

And the perfect gift to give someone!!

Michelle sent me a bracelet to review for y’all and give my opinion on the quality, style, and service of Custom Leather Jewelry and, after a lot of thought, I finally decided what I would have etched into my cuff.

My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me

Sweet
quote, isn’t it? I loved it the minute I read it, and so had Michelle
etch this into the bracelet she send me. I was so excited when it
arrived in the mail! πŸ˜€ The leather is thick and nice quality, as is
the metal plate with the saying etched in. The little ‘nails’ (or
whatever those things are) that keeps the plate affixed to the leather,
adds such a special touch.

In order to get a correct fit, Michelle had me measure my exact wrist
size and give to her. I was a little nervous if it would fit or (as is
often the case with me, since I have small wrists) it would be too big. I
was thrilled when I put it on for the first time and it fit on
my wrist perfectly. Not too tight or too loose. Just enough room for it
to move around on my wrist, but never even get close to slipping off.
Love that!!

The font used was perfect, in my opinion!
Perfect sizing for the letters, too. It’s been over a month since I’ve
received this bracelet and it still looks great. No wear marks and the
words are as clear as they were when I first got it — and I’ve been
wearing this cuff almost daily!!

And cuff’s
aren’t the only thing Michelle has to offer over at her Custom Leather Jewelry Etsy shop! Just check out these other things she makes!

Pretty cool stuff, huh? And there is more at her Etsy shop, so after you get done here, you should go over and check it out! But first, it’s time for that giveaway! Just fill in the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win a custom made cuff for yourself and YOU get to decide what gets etched into it! πŸ™‚
