Summer Inspired Nails with Londontown Lakur

June 19, 2019 Katie Marie

It’s been a while since I’ve been blogging, but today I am excited to share a vibrant and summer-inspired nail manicure using new Londontown Lakur polishes. These vibrant colors are enriched with botanicals, mineral oils, high-shine finish and a gel-like wear. Let’s jump into it!

Summer Inspired Manicure

For this manicure I used the Londowntown Gel Genius Base Coat and Gel Genius Top Coat along with the Lakur colors Notting the Fancy, Britannia, and Electric Avenue. I saw these fun colors and instantly saw them all together as a beautiful manicure! Right?!

Step 1: Base Coat

The Londontown Kur Gel Genius Base Coat is so smooth and easy to apply, it glides right on and settles down pretty quick. It’s a bit thicker than most base coats (at least in my opinion), but I think that helps give the gel-like finish to the manicure.

Step 2: Apply First Coat

Decide on the design you want for the nail colors and apply the first coat. I always aim for a more sheer first coat and ensure I get a nice application, touching all the areas evenly, and also “cap” the polish by applying a bit to the edge of my nail.

With the colors I had I wanted to use both the yellow and green so I applied Electric Avenue to my thumb, middle finger, and pinkie. And then used Notting the Fancy on my index finger and ring finger. Between the two colors, the yellow is definitely more sheer — Electric Avenue almost could’ve been good with just the one coat. I was impressed!

Step 3: Use Acetone to Clean Up Edges

I always use a bit of acetone and a small nail brush to go around the edges right after I apply polish and clean up the edges. It’s a lot easier and quicker doing it this way and it really makes a difference at the end — everything looks clean and neat.

Step 4: Apply Second Coat & Accent Glitter

Britannia is SUCH a fun shade, I had to use it in some way on my nails, so I decide to top it over the yellow on my ring finger and really loved the sparkle it gave the manicure.

Step 5: Apply Top Coat

Now apply a thick layer of the Londontown Kur Gel Genius Top Coat and you’re all done! It’s a thick, glossy formula and instantly completes the look!

And That’s the Finished Look!

That’s all there is to the manicure! Super simple, easy, and the finished look is just SO vibrant and fun! I love the neon green and bright yellow, especially in the summertime!

Would this Londontown manicure be something you rock this summer??
