It’s been a while since I’ve shared an eyeshadow tutorial and today I am using the NEW COVERGIRL Premium Eyeshadow Palettes at Walmart to create something fun, colorful, and royal! The packaging on these palettes are stunning and sure to catch your eye the next time you visit your local Walmart — so here’s a tutorial to inspire you and get you ready for your next special event or night out.

The NEW Palettes from COVERGIRL

My eyes instantly perked up when I first saw a peak of these new palettes from COVERGIRL — isn’t the packaging stunning?! There are 4 palettes in this collection, starting from the bottom left in the picture above there is: COVERGIRL Ascension Eyeshadow Palette, COVERGIRL Overthrown Eyeshadow Palette, COVERGIRL Revolution Eyeshadow Palette, and then in the center with the gold packaging is the COVERGIRL Reign Eyeshadow Palette.

I found these newly-released COVERGIRL palettes at my local Walmart in the Cosmetics section — It was in a fun little “new” display right alongside the rest of the COVERGIRL products. So next time you visit your Walmart, keep your eyes open for these 4 new palettes!

Feel free to click through to each of the links above to get a close look at the palettes and see the shades inside, but for today’s tutorial I am going to be focusing on the COVERGIRL Reign Eyeshadow Palette. If you know me, then you know those pops of colors instantly caught my eye! So let’s hop into the tutorial and I’ll show you how easy it is to create a dramatic, colorful makeup look that’ll have you looking like royalty for any occasion!

Easy & Colorful Tutorial

I used several COVERGIRL products in my tutorial and for my makeup that day, but the tutorial is just going to focus on the eye makeup — and for that (as I already stated) we are using the COVERGIRL Reign Eyeshadow Palette. I was really excited to see what type of look I could create with these fun colors!

Pictured here are all of the shades I used in the look today. If you’ve been following me for a while now…you know I had to use all the pops of colors I could for this royalty-inspired eyeshadow look! The thing I loved about this colorful eyelook, though, was that it wasn’t too crazy with the color. It all flowed very cohesively and elegantly together.

Step 1: Prime

First start off by priming your eyes, however you prefer. I have very oily eyelids, so I always like to go the extra mile when it comes to this step. The more I do to prep my eyes, the better my eyeshadow lasts throughout the day. So for this day I used a eyeshadow primer (COVERGIRL Lid Lock Up is a good one) and a comfortable concealer on top (COVERGIRL has several concealers to choose from that are available at your local Walmart).

Step 2: Blend Purple Into Crease & Outer Corner

I took a fluffy blending brush and blended the purple shade “Forever Yours” into my crease, really taking my time to get a seamless blend upward toward my browbone.

Then I switched to a more dense, packing brush and built it up in my outer corner.

Step 3: Crease a Half Cut Crease

This step is optional — if you don’t want to do it, you can just spray your brush and you’ll get a similar look. But I love a half cut crease, personally, so I went ahead and used the same concealer that I used for my base to cut the crease with a small, flat concealer brush.

Step 4: Pack on Lid Shade

Taking the shade “Money Maker” I packed that on top of my cut crease and stopped just before the concealer faded into the purple.

Step 5: Apply Transition

I used the shade “Dignified” to help with the blend from the gold into the purple. This shade has a lot of gold in it, so I would definitely recommend tapping off your brush and also spritzing it before applying.

Step 6: Wings & Lower Lash Line

I always love a good wing, so of course I had to do one. This step is optional as well, but if you want to do it and need a recommendation, the COVERGIRL Get In Line Liquid Liner is a nice one! Then I applied a black gel liner and took the shade “High Life” on a small pencil brush and smudged it along my lower lash line. It didn’t take any work at all — this shade was pigmented!

Step 7: Inner Corner Highlight

To finish out the eyeshadow I took the shade “Crowned” and applied it on the inner corner of my eye for a nice reflective highlight.

Step 8: Mascara

To finish out the eye look I just applied a few coats of mascara! Here I am using the COVERGIRL Lash Blast Active Mascara for both my top and bottom lashes.

Step 9: Apply Your Perfect Nude

For this look I picked out the COVERGIRL Melting Pout Matte lipstick in the shade “Champagne Showers”. It’s a nice nude for my skintone with just a bit of peachy/pink to make it pop.

There’s Your Simple and Colorful Look!

That’s all there is to this look — super colorful and fun, yet extremely simple and easy to do! I didn’t make any edits to these pictures — all are how they were taken, straight from my camera! What do you think of the finished look?? Would you wear this somewhere?

I can’t wait to hear what you think of this look — and of course what you think of these new palettes from COVERGIRL! Which color story or palette package design are you eyeing the most? Make sure you check them out in the beauty aisle the next time you visit your local Walmart stores!

These palettes take Covergirl out of the typical drugstore category. Not only are the colors brighter and better in your tutorial but the packaging isn’t cheap looking. I envy your talent.

What a pretty look, and the colours in this palette are gorgeous! I like how elegant the packaging looks although I have to admit I would have preferred it to be smaller and save the excessive material on the side.
