custom backdropsI’ve been wanting to try out Dose of Colors eyeshadows for some time and when they launched their Sassy Siennas palette…I knew it was time! I have been really into these peach and rusty shades. If you want to hear my thoughts, see swatches on both my arm AND my eyelids, and see a tutorial demonstration…well just keep on reading!

So the Dose of Colors Sassy Siennas palette is an all-matte formula that has a mixture of peaches, siennas and rusty colors. If you like earth tones with pops of peach…this palette was made for you! The palette has a net weight of 1.7 grams, or 0.06 oz, for each shadow. It is paraben free, talc free and also cruelty free.

The size of the pans inside the palette appear to be the typical size — I looked at Makeup Geek shadows for comparison and those are 0.064 oz. So when you divide up the price of this Sassy Siennas palette you’re basically paying a little over $6 for each shadow in this palette…which is nearly the same as Makeup Geek.

The palette is fairly small, as you can see from the pictures, but since there are only 5 shades I was not surprised. I like that they didn’t bulk it up to make it appear larger — it’s sleek and practical and is really easy to fit just about anywhere. The packaging is very reflective, so shows fingerprints easily. The packaging is very light in the hand — not cheap-y feeling, but definitely not a heavy-luxe type of packaging.

Okay, ready for the swatches and tutorial? Well I’m going to be uploading them on Youtube from now on — that way you can see them in real time (not just a picture) and my hope is that it’s more helpful for you! Let me know what you think of this new style of doing my reviews and swatches!

Application/Blendability

Every single eyeshadow in this palette is very pigmented — I would definitely recommend tapping off your brush before going onto your eyes. But even if you don’t, while you’re definitely get lots of gorgeous pigment, you’ll still be able to blend it out. I was surprised how effortlessly it blended out! As you saw in the tutorial (above), you get pigment from the first dip and none of the shades ever gave me any trouble blending out. The shade Brassy feels a bit dryer than the others in this palette, but it doesn’t effect the blendability.

I hope you could tell from the tutorial, but I thought this palette performed SO well! You get a lot of fallout with the shadows as you create your look — but once you’re done it doesn’t budge! It lasts all day on my eyes, I have no issues with creasing or fading…it really does look the same at 9pm as it did at 9am! The way these perform remind me of my beloved LORAC PRO palettes. So good!

I think this palette is so worth it! I know it seems expensive when you first see it, but as I broke it down for you above…the price really isn’t that expensive. And you just can’t beat the quality! Seriously, it’s SO good! If there is one negative that I would warn you about, it’s that the palette is too pigmented. It could easily become a scary mess if you went in too ham and hard on the shadows.

What do you think of the DOSE of Colors Sassy Siennas palette? Have you picked it up yet? Do you want to? Let me know!
