I purchased the LORAC PRO Conceal/Contour palette the day it was released and was really excited to give it a try. I don’t own many cream products and I was hoping a palette like this would up my Instagram GRWM game. Unfortunately, this palette did not live up to my expectations. ๐

Price & Value
For the price you pay (which is the same price as their powdered contour palette) you get 4 highlights, 4 contours, 4 concealers, and a double-ended brush. Which is a decent value considering the brush is really nice quality.
The pans are pretty small — about the size of my thumb — making it a little tricky to get a bigger brush in. But I found that the small end of the brush worked well to pick up product and place it on my face before blending it out with the other side.
Swatching Time!
The highlighter shades are very sheer but I didn’t find that to be a bad thing — it blended easily and looked very natural while still being noticeable.
The concealer shades (middle row) are very thick. They remind me of the IT Cosmetics famous Bye Bye Under Eye concealer. Though, unfortunately…not as good. More on that soon.
The contour shades performed really well. It’s not very thick, so blends easily — and yet at the same time it doesn’t blend away.
Why This Isn’t for Me
The concealer shades were a total dud for me. It was very thick and tended to crease on me throughout the day. But, what really disappointed me about the concealers, was that they didn’t really conceal anything! It surprised me because they do such a great job at brightening my undereyes, but after blending this in I felt like it just highlighted and made my under eye circles look worse.
To Sum It Up
Leaving the concealers out of it, I really only used two shades from the contour row and one shade from the highlight row. That just isn’t worth the $45 pricetag for me. I could see this being useful for makeup artists who color correcting, highlight, and all that jazz. But for just a regular makeup junkie like me…this palette was a very disappointing purchase.

I could see why it would be disappointing, when all the concealers don’t work for you. I’ve heard such good things about Lorac too, I think I’ll stick to the powder formulations.

Yeah, it just didn’t make it worth the price of the palette.
