PUR Cosmetics is a brand that I’ve tried in the past, but definitely want to get to know better this year…and what better way than to start with their newest products that they released during their “PUR in Paradise” getaway/campaign! I’m sure we were all watching those snaps! But after the big release…I felt like these were quickly forgotten. Was it because they weren’t any good? Well, no, I wouldn’t say that for all of them — at least, out of the 4 new products from the release that I’ve tried. 🙂 Let’s get into the nitty-gritty and break it down.
New Products from PUR Cosmetics
Skin-Perfecting Foundation Brush | $28
This was the first product that caught my eye — I’ve recently gotten obsessed with trying these oval brushes. I don’t own a lot of them, but I have three from different brands as well as the original, Artis brushes. With that experience under my belt, I can tell you that this brush came in at the bottom when comparing it to those. I’m not sure if it was just that the bristles were so stiff, or they were too curved at the edges, but every time I applied foundation with this brush I had to take extra time to buff out the streaks. It’s even worse with thicker foundations, like the one they released with this brush, which I thought was odd. Overall it with a just wasn’t my favorite and since there are better knock offs for cheaper…save your money on this one.
Get a Grip Endurance Eyeshadow Primer | $20
This is the type of eyeshadow primer that is very thick and sticky. It doesn’t give you any sort of color correcting on the eyelids. I didn’t find this to work in the longrun on my oily eyelids, though. It worked pretty well but the color began to fade away on my hooded eye by the end of the day. With that said I do like how sticky this primer is and I enjoy using it just on the eyelid to really make the shimmer or glitter shades pop. Since my eyelids are very oily I still use another primer underneath everything.
Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick | $18
You know I love my liquid lipsticks, so this new formula from PUR Cosmetics caught my eye right away. The price point is pretty good for a highend liquid lipstick, though you get less than the typical liquid lipstick tube. The packaging is really sleek and cute and the applicator is very unique. I really like it, in fact. It comes to a nice point that almost acts like a lip liner so you can get a very precise application.
I have the shade Ever After and can’t find any faults with this shade — I love pinky mauves! The formula is a very whipped consistency, very pigmented. It dries down nicely and is mostly transfer proof. This is more of a comfortable liquid lipstick than a budge-proof lipstick. Which I don’t mind — and it layers well, when touch ups are needed.
Bare It All 12-Hour 4-In-1 Skin-Perfecting Foundation | $39
This foundation really surprised me. From the name I was expecting a sheer, natural-looking finish — but this foundation is very thick in consistency and gives you full coverage. In the Instagram video below you can see how much coverage it gives. It doesn’t set well on my face, though. It feels like it never full dries down and feels a bit “sticky” all day. Because of the full coverage this is a foundation that you can feel all day long. So it’s not my favorite, but it isn’t the worst — it’s just okay.
So there you have it — my thoughts on the newest PUR Cosmetics products: the liquid lipstick is fantastic, the foundation and primer are okay, and the brush just isn’t for me.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the foundation. I do love their Velvet Matte lipstick. Ever After is my favorite though, currently wearing it.
