Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection – Holiday Makeup Set

December 26, 2016 Katie Marie 8 Comments

Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection - Holiday Makeup SetI was contacted several weeks ago by Glo Minerals to see if I was interested in trying their Bold Pursuit collection. This collection is put together to give you that go-to holiday look with 5 of their products. Because December was so crazy for me — if you follow me on Snapchat…you know how crazy it ended up being — I wasn’t able to get a review up before Christmas. But! Since I think there are many other occasions were wings and a red lip are appropriate I decided to still share my thoughts on this set. (Better late than never, as the saying goes… πŸ™‚ )

Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection - Cream Stay Shadow SticksSwatches of the Glo Minerals Cream Stay Shadow Sticks from the Bold Pursuit CollectionCream Stay Shadow Stick | Retail: $20 each

You know I was most intrigued about the shadow sticks. I typically do not have good luck with cream shadows because my eyelids are so oily, they don’t hold up — even with a primer. However, these shadow sticks I was VERY surprised and impressed to find that they didn’t crease at all. I used eyeshadow primer underneath, but I didn’t set the cream shadow. At the end of the night my eye look still looked just as good as when I first applied it. So thrilled with my results! The next time I used them I did try it without primer, and experienced some minor creasing on one eye. But since I always use eyeshadow primer, that’s not really a negative for me. I can definitely see myself purchasing a few of these in the future!

One last thing I did want to note — the two shades included in the Bold Pursuit collection seem to be limited edition shades. So if you like them…more reason to grab this set while you can!

Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection - Liquid Ink LinerLiquid Ink Liner | Retail: $16.50

You know I love a sharp winged liner so the fact that this is included in the set excited me. There’s no way I would go to a holiday party without wings! This type of liquid liner is one you dip into a pot and then go onto your lid. Not going to lie, this is my least favorite formula to do a winged line with. In my experience it’s a lot more liquidy and easy to mess up. But, that aside, the formula is great. Once it is on and dries…it isn’t moving anywhere! My eyes can get a bit watery during the day and there wasn’t any smudging or flaking with these. So despite this not being my favorite way to apply my liquid liner, it does the job well and I love that it is water resistant!

Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection - Precision Eye PencilPrecision Eye Pencil | Retail: $16

This is the perfect nude eye liner to use in my waterline — for my skintone especially. My water line can look a bit red some days…a child who still wakes up multiple times in the night will do that to ya! Anyways, back to the eye pencil, this went on very gently, with nice pigmentation, and lasted fairly well. My eyes water very easy, so it is hard for any eye liner to stay in my waterline for a full day. But after several hours I still could see it. Another way to use this would be to sculpt out the brow with it. There’s also a smudger on the other end to make it even better for the brows!

Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection - Holiday Lipstick ColorSwatch of the Lipstick in Date Night from the Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit CollectionLipstick in Date Night | Retail: $18

Last in the Bold Pursuit collection is a bright, red lipstick! I love a good red lipstick and this shade is my kind of red. Not super cool-toned red, but not warm either. It almost looks berry on my, but a bright red berry, lol. Either way, I love it! It is extremely comfortable to wear. I think you can tell from the picture below, but it has a very glossy finish on the lips. It the type of lipstick that will transfer off onto just about everything, so don’t expect it to last through eating. So, some pros and cons. All around I like the lipstick included in the set. Would I repurchase a bold color in this same formula? Probably not because my mommy life always wants to reach for the non-high-maintenance lip colors. πŸ™‚

Holiday Makeup Look Created Using the Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit CollectionThe Look I Created

I used everything from the Bold Pursuit collection in this look above. (My face makeup is from the new airbrush system I tried.) For the eyes I used both shades — Toast I applied all over the lid and blended into the crease and then I applied Echo more heavily right on the center of the lid. Let me know what you think of this look!

Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit CollectionDo I Recommend?

Yes! The retail value of this set isΒ  $90.50, so you are almost getting all these products half off! If you are new to the brand the Bold Pursuit collection would be a great way to try the brand out and get a good feel for it. I know that for me, I am very curious to try out more from them soon.

Have you tried Glo Mineral products? If so, which is your favorite? Do you own the Bold Pursuit collection?

I love the colors! I have always had a problem with lipstick not lasting through the day so I just quit wearing it. I love the color in this set though.

I hear you, girl! one reason I love liquid lipsticks, but they dry out your lips. It’s a give and take, lol

It looks lovely, but I’m not what you would consider bold with make up. I love the colors of the shadow sticks.

I wrote a post, a few years ago, sharing a trick to get a good sharp wing. But I really should do another post with several tips — because depending on my mood, I use different methods to get a wing πŸ™‚
