Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation – Worth the Hype?

October 16, 2016 Katie Marie 24 Comments

Urban Decay's newest foundation -- the All Nighter liquid foundation!Have you been hearing as many rave reviews about the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation as I have? I’ve been super curious — especially since I think I have the perfect skin for this foundation. Oily, but not crazy oily. ๐Ÿ™‚ So did it stand up to my crazy, baby-filled days?

The packaging on the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation is BOMB!Packaging looks BOMB!

I mean, come on, its Urban Decay. Of course they’re going to kill it with the packaging. The bottle is not weighted or metal. It’s made out of some sort of plastic and feels/looks similar to their regular Naked Skin foundation. I personally didn’t mind that — it still looks amazing.

Urban Decay All Nighter foundation gets a prize for the coolest packaging! It has a pump, too, which is awesome, and it also shows the foundation through the ‘shattered’ effect of the bottle so that you’ll know when you start to run low. Double win! ๐Ÿ™‚ One thing I can tell you right off the bat about this foundation is that if you don’t like it when you can ‘feel’ it on your skin…you had better pass. It’s not a super heavy or sticky feel, but it’s definitely noticeable as you wear it throughout the day. Doesn’t bother me, but do want to point it out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sistemas Capilares a MedidaIt does oxidize

So I got the shade 4.0 and before I self tanned it looked like it matched me perfectly…but then would oxidize about a shade more. Nothing glaringly darker, thankfully, but it was noticeable to me. Especially if I had my hair all up. After I self tanned, though, it matched a lot better. It’s annoying to have to try to take into consideration the oxidation, but if you have a Sephora nearby go in store and ask for a sample of the foundation shade you think will match and test it before you buy. ๐Ÿ™‚

All Nighter foundation from Urban DecayIt sets really quickly!

I typically apply my foundation in sections and make sure the foundation is fully blended in before moving on to the next, so for me having this foundation set so quickly doesn’t really bother me. But if you tend to dot your foundation all over your face and then go blend it in…it can get difficult to blend out seamlessly. I also found that I didn’t like using a Beauty Blender to blend it into my skin. I’ve tried using one twice since receiving this and I noticed so many patches and streaks on my face. No thanks!

Urban Decay packaging has my heart! This baby gives you full coverage!

Man, does it give you awesome coverage! I think it rivals my most full coverage foundation that I own, I was very impressed with it. As for how long it lasts, I would say this is flawless for a good 6 to 8 hours, and then I notice my oils starting to come through and a few hours later it will start breaking up in common places like my cheeks and chin (That mom life, always snuggling!)

All in all, though, I really do like this All Nighter foundation and say that it IS worth the hype IF you enjoy thick, full coverage foundations. I love wearing it when I want to have a really flawless appearance. It looks amazing in photos, too, so works well for my blogging life!

Have you picked up this foundation? If so, share with me your thoughts below! I’m curious to hear if it oxidizes on your skin, too…or if it’s just me, haha!

There is always so much hype around a new makeup release. But when the frenzy settles down...is the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation really worth getting?

I love both this All Nighter and Urban Decay’s Naked Skin. Both are fantastic, depending on your preference ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love the packaging too. I wish I could get a sample of this because I love full coverage foundations. I’ll ask at Sephora. The oxidizing thing kinda bothers me so I will ask for a couple of shades.

Yes, they nailed it on the visual packaging! Not going to lie, I wish it “felt” more expensive, but it looks bomb ๐Ÿ™‚

Ask for a sample, girl! Sephora is awesome at giving you generous samples if you ask in store. I typically can use a foundation sample for a week or more! Great way to give it a thorough test before spending your money ๐Ÿ˜‰

I haven’t tried this, but I loved the Naked Skin foundation…for the first few hours. It oxidized on me pretty fiercely.

Yes! I love the Naked Skin, too! I haven’t owned it in a while (I just repurchased during the VIB sale!), so I don’t remember it oxidizing… :-/ That’s always annoying!

My friend recently bought this and loves it! I thought about trying it too since they actually have a shade pale enough for me. I have issues with oxidizing foundation, so thanks for the tip about that!

I really like how Urban Decay has their foundations divided into cool, warm — and even a few neutrals! makes it really easy for me to find my shade. ๐Ÿ™‚

I know that a lot of people love this foundation but it would be completely wrong for my skin type or needs.

I wish that UD would make gorgeous foundations for dry/maturing skin. They have so many customers in my age range, yet they completely ignore us.

Have you tried the Naked skin foundation? That feels really nice on the skin and isn’t thick or super matte, either.

the packaging is so nice and I’ve heard great things about this foundation. I’m so glad I do not use foundation that often or at all, because I would totally buy all of it just for packaging.
