This is the holiday palette I’ve been waiting ALL year for — the Mega Pro 3 palette!! ๐ I know every beauty brand is coming out with something special for the holiday season…but me being a HUGE LORAC fan and pretty much obsessed with their PRO palettes….The Mega Pro is the only one I care about! So! Did it live up to my (high) expectations? Let’s get into the down and dirty! ๐
If you’re curious to see last years palette, you can read my review HERE!

The packaging this year is a creamy-white with a rose gold print. I know I’ve heard some people say they don’t like it because it’ll look dirty fast…but it’s honestly my FAVORITE packaging out of all the Mega Pros. Yes, it’s white, but I find that no matter what the color of the palette, shadow smudges still show up because of the texture that the palette is. ๐
At first glance there doesn’t seem to be anything extraordinary about this palette. It just seems like a typical neutral palette. And it is — in a GOOD WAY! I feel like there is a good mix of both warm-toned and cool-toned eyeshadows in this palette that people of a wide variety of hues and tones can get a lot of good use out of it.
You can’t beat the value!
A regular PRO palette (that has 16 eyeshadows) retails for $44. So if you think about it you’re just paying $15 more for TWICE as many shadows. Right there, I feel like this is a no-brainer in value. As long as the eyeshadows are good, right?! Let’s check out the swatches below…
The shimmers are fantastic — that red shade showed up lighter than it appeared in the palette, but I found it still applied smoothly. The mattes are also really good, though I found more than one shade that felt dry compared to the typical LORAC PRO formula. Specifically the eggplant and navy shade on the far right on the top row. However, I’ve used both and thought they both performed very well.
No Issues Using it!
Above is an eye look I created using a lot of the warm copper-ish shadows in the palette. Each shadow I used blended effortlessly, didn’t skip, and showed up beautifully. I’ve used this every day since I received it (about a week) and each look I used a different shadow. And I never ran into any issues working with any of the shades. ๐
Cut to the Point — Do I Recommend?
Yes! Even though some of the mattes are dryer than typical and that red is misleading, I TOTALLY recommend it. I think this palette would be the PERFECT gift to give someone who is either just starting out in their makeup adventure or who wants to invest in their first high-end palette. The LORAC Mega PRO 3 can give you every day eye looks and more glam, date night looks. And there are so many shades that are SO appropriate for fall, am I right?!
Okay, now that I am done GUSHING over how much I love this palette…let me know, did you buy this palette?? Do you own any other LORAC PRO palette? I am a BIG fan of their palettes, let’s fan-girl in the comments!!

I love that there are so many peachy and rosy neutrals. I wish I had got this instead of Lorac Pro 3 – not that I don’t like it; but these are prettier neutrals.
Katie G says
Yes, I think this is a fantastic palette for a neutral-lover. It’s like the PRO3…but better, haha!

I had hoped they would make it available online at Amazon, like they did the first year. Maybe someday soon Ulta will ship worldwide! Sorry love ๐
Maddi says
This is not on Lorac’s website, where can i purchase it?
Katie G says
Maddi, this was only available on Ulta’s website and in store. Check to see if your local store still has them in stock — I believe they’ve been out of stock online for some time. The links in the post above will take you to the Ulta page were they had it available.
Katie Burnette says
I’m so glad I ran into this post today. THANK YOU! Ulta has 20% off your entire online purchase today online INCLUDING prestige for once and I have my gift certificate that I’ve been saving half of since Valentine’s Day waiting for Christmas kits. I actually don’t own a neutral palette because I’ve always preferred jewel tones and so I did things backwards buying a Vice palette, then Lorac Pro. I will totally be buying this today. You convinced me to step out of my comfort zone into neutrals.
Katie G says
I am so glad you found this review helpful! Hearing that totally makes my day — that’s what I strive for <3

Hey girl. First time on your blog and I must say, you and I could be great friends. I have the same taste and habits when it comes to shadows. I have this pallette and I find myself combining the deeper nudes in the Lorac Pro Pallette 3 with the lighter, more shear, damn-good-when used as a highlighter shadows of the Mega Palette. I wear these combos everyday. My favorite thing about those two you were slightly disappointed with, (Dk. Navy and Eggplant) I use with a wet liner brush and give myself either wings, under eye smoke or smudge. They (obviously) are much less dry and more useful. I’d love to see you do a post using all of these wet. When you wet the pearl almond!!! Beautiful and magical things happen. Please do a “Wet” tutorial blog post. I’d forever be your fan girl.
Katie G says
Oh girl! Yes, we could be friends!! <3 I am SUCH an eyeshadow palette addict! That is such a good idea on what to do with the dark navy and eggplant -- I will have to try that!
And thank you for the 'wet tutorial' suggestion, I totally need to to that! At this time I am doing a lot of tutorials on my Instagram, so follow me there (@LadyKaty92) and you'll be sure to see when I post the wet tutorial!!! <3
