My Updated Summer Skincare Routine featuring Paula’s Choice!

March 28, 2016 Katie Marie 23 Comments

Summer is here, and a new skincare routine is definitely in order! Paula's Choice gets a lot of hype here, and for good reason! The weather is already warming up here in Virginia and I like to change out my skincare with the seasons. And this time I’m using everything exclusively from Paula’s Choice! If you haven’t heard of this brand before, than prepared to fall in love with the best skincare resource/brand ever!

I’m not new to Paula’s Choice products or the resources on her site — almost two years ago I received a 2-week trial kit for free to try out and that’s when I fell in love with the brand. I went on to purchase other products from there line and have never been disappointed with any of their products.

Summer Skincare Routine

This Resist Advanced Kit for Wrinkles + Breakouts looks fantastic! Everything you need in one kit!I received the Resist Advanced Kit for Wrinkles + Breakouts to use for my new summer skincare routine. The beauty of this skincare line is that I can keep my pesky breakouts at bay (I’ve always struggled with acne; it used to be very severe, but now it’s just mild/controlled) but I can also incorporate anti-aging skincare benefits into my skin now! You can never start your anti-aging skincare too soon! The sooner you start, the better it works!

Check out this Resist Advanced Kit for Wrinkles + Breakouts set. You get so many fantastic products in this skincare set!Along with sharing my skincare routine with you, I also have a coupon code and perk for my followers! If you use my link to jump onto the Paula’s Choice website before you buy, you’ll get 20% off your purchase plus free shipping! On any size order! Keep that in mind as you read the rest of this post… πŸ˜‰

The Resist Advanced Kit for Wrinkles + Breakouts and the Resist Eye Cream and Resist BHA 9 do wonders for acne-prone skin! The other two products that I use in conjunction with the complete kit is an eye cream and a spot corrector. And that’s all I use for my morning and night skincare routine. It may seem like a lot of products (it did for me at the very start) but my skin has been feeling fantastic, with few breakouts, so I find the time I put into my skincare day and night totally worth it!

Okay, let’s get into the products and see how each one works for me! And just so you know, these products are best for normal-to-oily skin. πŸ™‚

Resist Anti-Aging cleanser and tone is the perfect start to removing your makeup at night!RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser – $18 – This claims to be able to cleanse your face and remove excess oils without striping away your skins natural barrier. I found that this worked very well. I’ve been using a gentle cleanser for some time and found that this performed just as well as that one. It does say that it can remove your makeup, but I always use an oil to remove my makeup and follow with a cleanser. Habits are hard to break sometimes, lol

RESIST Weightless Advanced Repairing Toner – $23 – I know there are all sorts of harsh toners for acne-prone gals, but I prefer a very gentle, mild one that won’t strip my skin. And this one is perfect! It feels very light and refreshing on the skin and ensures that any residue makeup that I might’ve missed is cleaned off.

Paula's Choice RESIST daily and weekly exfoliants sound amazing!RESIST Daily Pore-Refining Treatment with 2% BHA – $30 – I first discovered the uniqueness and magic of a liquid exfoliant when I first tried Paula’s Choice product. Regular granular exfoliants can really harm your skin, but using a liquid exfoliant does the work of sloshing off dead skincells without any damage to the skin. I love using their BHA exfoliants, and this one was no exception!

RESIST Weekly Retexturizing Foaming Treatment 4% BHA – $35 – This is the same as the daily exfoliant, except that it’s stronger and you use it only once a week. This also works amazingly. I weened off my prescription medication for acne when I switched to this summer skincare routine, and I didn’t break out like I usually would have!

new-skincare-routine-paulas-choice-specialproductsRESIST Anti-Aging Eye Cream – $32 – I feel like I have a lot of lines under my eyes for my age, so I knew I wanted to get a better eye cream when I changed up my skincare routine. And this one has been fantastic. It’s very refreshing, melts into the skin easily, and doesn’t leave a residue or greasy feel at all. I definitely recommend this!

RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum – $36 – I use this treatment once a day, at night, to help keep my skin healthy and fight the signs of aging. It’s filled with a lot of antioxidants and feels really weightless on the skin. It’s always hard to pick out what makes a difference when you completely start a new skincare routine, but I feel like this has a lot to do with how soft and smooth my skin feels.

RESIST BHA 9 – $42 – I wanted to add this to my routine because I have a lot of old acne scars and hyper pigmentation that I would love to get rid of. I use it once at night, after I’ve applied everything else. I’ve only been using it a month, but I took pictures before I started and I can’t wait to see the difference in my skin in another month or two! The pump on this is impossible to control. I would try to get just a few drops on the tip of my finger, but it always gave me a full pumps worth. So I started pumping it into the palm of my hand and then dotting it on the areas I needed. I could’ve used less, but since it gave me so much I just applied it in every area I could so as not to waste this goodness!

RESIST day and night moisturizers from Paula's Choice - they sound fantastic!RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 – $32 – I used to be so bad about applying moisturizer with sunscreen during the day because I would either hate the greasy feel or a very white-cast look to my face. This gave me neither! My skin didn’t feel greasy or sticky and there is no white cast. It’s extremely liquidy, so melts into the skin very quickly. And with SPF 50, I feel very protected against sun damage!

RESIST Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator – $32 – This night moisturizer is amazing! It feels wonderful and makes my skin feel amazing. I tell you, I’ve never felt my skin feel so soft and silky before! I always appreciate the fact that this doesn’t make my skin oily — a lot of rich night creams make me an oil slick by morning, but this does not.

Paula's Choice RESIST Super Skincare Kit sounds great, I need to try their skincare soon!I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my new summer skincare routine and can’t wait to see how it improves the appearance/texture of my skin as I continue to use them! One other thing I wanted to share with you about Paula’s Choice is the Beautypedia section of her website. This is the place where you can look up whatever products you are currently using — drugstore or highend — and see how good it actually is for your skin.

Paula’s Choice is very big on using only gentle, non-irritant ingredients in her products, and she’s reviewed all the popular skincare products that are out, sharing with us if there might be anything that might cause break outs or reactions to our skin. When I could only shop at the drugstore, I used this section of the website constantly to research a product before I bought it to use. I love this section and highly, highly recommend you check it out!

Oh, and by the way, Paula’s Choice is giving away a skincare regimen worth $150! Definitely worth entering, just use the form below!

I use several of the same Resist products and love them. I had the same problem with BHA 9 since it gets too much out at one time. I end up slathering it all over but emphasize some areas.

Yes, the pump on that gives you WAY too much…unless you’re wanting to cover your whole face, lol. I started using it on my neck, too. Not that I need it, but it can’t hurt and I ain’t wasting it πŸ˜‰
