Colorful Fall Face of the Day Featuring LORAC Mega PRO 2 palette #BBCChallenge #FOTD

November 27, 2015 Katie Marie 11 Comments

november-bbc-challenge-lorac-megapro2-headerI hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! My husband and I spent it with both our families at our home. Such special memories! šŸ™‚ For today’s post I’m bringing you a colorful fall face of the day look featuring the LORAC Mega PRO 2 palette as part of the BBC November Challenge — which was to incorporate the colors yellow, orange, and red into something. It could be makeup, nails, or hair. Of course, I decided to create a makeup look and this is what I got.

If you’ve read my review of this LORAC palette, than you know I consider the yellow-gold shadow called Gold Leaf to be one of the few ‘duds’ in this palette. But I was determined to make it work and, with this month’s challenge, I thought it was the perfect time to do just that. I think I succeeded, what about you?

By the way, my posts from now on till the end of the year are going to be a bit sketchy, with my baby due any day. IĀ do have some posts scheduled for you all already. And I’ll still remain active on my social media. If you want to know when I have my baby girl, follow me on Instagram or Facebook to be the first to know! šŸ™‚ With that said, let’s get into the products I used to create this look!

november-bbc-challenge-lorac-megapro2-fotd1Details for My Colorful Fall Face of the Day

Since I was going for such a colorful eye look, I wanted a really flawless finish to my FACE and decided to use all Maybelline products for my base makeup — primer, foundation, and concealers. Next I used my new NYX mineral setting powder (oh my goodness, the powder is so fine!) to set my makeup and then contoured just a little bit with the EDGE Beauty contour duo I recently got in the mail. And what better way to finish it off than with my favorite fall blush from NYX called Dusty Rose?!

november-bbc-challenge-lorac-megapro2-collageNow for the main part of this eyeshadow look — the EYES! As mentioned, I used my beloved LORAC Mega PRO 2 palette to achieve this colorful fall eye look. After priming them I blended Tangerine and a bit of Melon into the crease to warm things up and give me a good transition color. Then I prepped my lids with NYX’s jumbo eyeshadow pencil before using my fingers to really press Gold Leaf onto my eyelids. I used Cabernet to deepen up the outer corner of the lids and continued to build up all the colors till I liked how it looked and finished by highlighting under my brows with Bisque. Then I just finished it off with a bit of brow pomade, eyeliner, and mascara.

november-bbc-challenge-lorac-megapro2-makeup2I’ve recently started to use a lip primer to prep my LIPS for really drying lipsticks, and have been using this one from Ulta. It’s worked okay, for the price. Then I just used this deep red lipstick from Anastasia in Heathers to complete my colorful fall face of the day look!

2n6w5jnAs I mentioned earlier, I did this face of the day look as part of this month’s BBC Challenge. If you want to jump in on this challenge, feel free to create a look (hair, makeup, nails…whatever) that incorporates the colors yellow, orange, and red! Link it below and use the hashtag #BBCChallenge so we all can see!

I LOVE the eyeshadow combination! Burnt orange, ochre yellow and gold are my HG shades right now and you pull the look off so well! IMO orange is the best “neutral” for brown eyes!
