I don’t know about you, but when I go through the effort of putting on face makeup, I am looking for flawless, poreless results. I have fairly rough skin due to large pores and old acne scars and the most important thing I look for in a foundation is something that will help fill those pores. And I found a line at Ulta that will give me just that — it’s from LORAC’s POREfection face line. Just keep reading to see how I achieved this poreless face routine.
LORAC POREfection Step By Step Tutorial
Before we dive into the (super easy) tutorial, these are the products that I am going to be using on my face. (Click HERE to shop these products!) I know these products aren’t comparable to drugstore prices, but for me personally I would rather pay more money for a flawless base to my makeup than for, say, mascara or eyeliner. What about you? What do you prefer to “splurge” on?
So let’s dive right in to the tutorial! (Warning: You’re about to see my face without foundation! :-0)
STEP 1: You’ve got to start with a good base, right? I have pretty oily skin, so LORAC’s POREfection Mattifying Face Primer is the perfect foundation to my makeup routine. It does a fabulous job at filling in those areas where my pores are large and it helps to keep me matte throughout the day. Because being an oil slick is not what I’m going for. 😉
STEP 2: Next up is the foundation! LORAC has a few foundations in their line, but the one that I prefer is their POREfection Foundation. I would say it gives you medium coverage, but it helps to fill in those pores beautifully. It can take a few minutes to set — it’s a rather wet foundation, even after you’ve applied it, so I like to apply my foundation and then finish off my eyes with eyeliner and mascara to give the foundation a few minutes to dry and set on my face before going in with powder.
STEP 3: Can’t forget concealer! These days I’m finding I need concealer more and more (you just don’t sleep the same when you’re as big as a whale and have an active jumping jellybean inside your tummy, lol) and this POREfection concealer is the bomb. The shade I have is very yellow-toned, which matches my skintone so beautifully and really helps to brighten up my undereyes. This concealer is VERY pigmented, so only a little is needed and I just pat it in with my fingertip.
STEP 4: Now it’s time to set that concealer and the rest of your face to keep it matte and perfect all day long. I’ve been loving the POREfection Baked Perfecting Powder! I’ve never tried a baked powder to set my foundation, but the results are very light, airbrushed, and beautiful. I highly recommend you give this powder a try!
STEP 5: The last step is really simple — just finish off your look with whatever blush, bronzer, and lipstick you want for your makeup look that day! In this picture I am using Milani’s Baked Blush in Luminoso and the bronzer shade in the It Cosmetics’ CC+ Radiance Palette. On my lips I have NYX Matte lipstick in Whipped Caviar with It Cosmetics CC+ Lip Serum Hydrating Creme Gloss in Love over top of that.
That’s all there is to getting this flawless and poreless looking face routine — really easy, right?
