My Favorite Drugstore Beauty Buys // Collab with ElleSees

September 24, 2015 Katie Marie 28 Comments

Favorite Drugstore Beauty Buys // Elle Sees & From My VanityBeing a beauty enthusiast, it can be difficult for me to ever stick to one product — I’m always wanting to try out all the new products that brands are continually coming out with! But even with that said, I realized that there are a handful of products I repurchase the second that they run out. I just can’t go without them and have not found anything to replace them! So let’s take a look at 5 of my most-repurchased beauty products that are all from the drugstore!

As mentioned in the title of this post, this is a collab with Elle from ElleSees! If you don’t know about her and her amazing beauty blog….I don’t know where you’ve been but you’ve been missing out! I am so excited to be doing this post with her. She was one of the first beauty blogs I discovered when I started blogging about beauty and I’ve been following her ever since!

So are you ready to dive into my top 5 drugstore beauty repurchases?

Favorite Drugstore Beauty Buys // Neutrogena Hydro Boost // Elle Sees & From My VanityOkay, let’s talk about the biggest item in the pile first. ๐Ÿ™‚ This Hydro Boost Water Gel from Neutrogena is fairly new to the market (earlier this year) but I’ve already gone through one tub of this and am working on a new one. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve never been a gal to get really complex with her skincare routine — I just want something quick, simple, and that works to keep my skin happy and the zits at bay. ๐Ÿ™‚ I find that applying this after using my acne medication is all my skin needs to get the moisture back into my skin. And I never notice my skin getting extra oily because of this product and it doesn’t aggravate my skin. So, yes, I am continuing on with my second tub!

Favorite Drugstore Beauty Buys // Maybelline Fit Me Concealer // Elle Sees & From My VanityI feel like this Maybelline Fit Me Concealer gets a lot of love in the beauty community…and for good reason! It’s such a fabulous concealer at an affordable price! As you can see, I have two colors — one to concealer blemishes and the other to brighten up the center of my face. And the moment they seem to be drying out….I rush out and purchase another tube. ๐Ÿ™‚ For my concealers, I like it to be creamy and easy to blend — and this does both with very little effort. I’ve been a fan for years!

Favorite Drugstore Beauty Buys // Maybelline the Rocket Volum' Express // Elle Sees & From My VanityI am always on the hunt for a mascara that will give me exactly what I want with as little effort as possible. While I’ve found many good ones along the way, I routinely come back to the Maybelline the Rocket Volum’ Express mascara. If I’m in a hurry and need to build up my lashes quickly, this is what I reach for. Just a few passes through my lashes and I can run out the door. The only drawback is that it can be really wet when you first open it. But after a few weeks of use, it dries up a bit and that’s just the way I like it. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s just a really nice mascara that gives me volume and keeps my lashes curled and in place all day.

Favorite Drugstore Beauty Buys // Softlips Cube 5-in-1 Lip Care // Elle Sees & From My VanityI can’t believe how obsessed I am about this product…but I totally admit I am! And it’s just a chap stick! I’ve never really been good at remembering to apply chap stick to keep my lips moisturized (though I really need to!) but ever since I started using this Softlips Cube 5-in-1 Lip Care, I find that I’m constantly reapplying throughout the day. It just smells and tastes SO good! I just can’t get over how yummy it is! This is the third cube I’ve gone through and I’ve already replaced this one by the time this post goes live. ๐Ÿ™‚ And the awesome thing about it….is that it works really well! I apply this at night, and I can tell a difference in the morning. My lips feel so soft and not dry at all. The best $3 I ever spent! ๐Ÿ™‚

Favorite Drugstore Beauty Buys // Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner // Elle Sees & From My VanityI honestly didn’t realize how many Maybelline products I had in this post (I promise you, I’m not sponsored, lol!). It just happened! This one, I think, has been my favorite the longest — it’s the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner and while I haven’t tried a ton of high-end gel eyeliners, this is by far my favorite from the drugstore. I’ve tried ones from Wet n Wild, L’Oreal, Rimmel…and I’m always coming back to this one. It’s a bit of a dryer, thicker consistency than some of the ones I’ve tried, and I find that that makes it easier for me to get a really precise, beautiful line. It dries matte, of course, and never budges throughout the day. I highly, highly recommend! And the brush that this comes with isn’t bad, either!

And there are 5 of my most repurchased drugstore beauty products! Don’t forget to go over and check out the 5 things ElleSees repurchases from the drugstore! And while you are over there, tell her I sent you and subscribe to her email subscription so you never miss anymore posts! ๐Ÿ™‚

That mascara sounds great! I hate when I spend time curling my lashes and putting on mascara, only to have them “fall” a few hour later. If you say it doesn’t clump, well then it’s definitely something I need to try!

Stef, the first few weeks, when it’s really wet, it can clump if you’re not careful. But once it’s had a chance to dry up a little, it’s a dream to work with. My constant go-to!

I’m going to have to get that Soft Lips cube. I’m always hunting for something inexpensive that actually works. Thanks for the recommendation! Stacie xo

I’ve used some similar products but not exactly the same as yours. I like gel moisturizers (I use Hada Labo Tokyo), and I just bought a Maybelline mascara – Colossal in the yellow tube – and I don’t like it that much – wish I’d have tried your recommendation instead!

I haven’t tried the Colossal mascara, either, so can’t say. I really need to branch out and try some new (to me) mascaras from the drugstore, but I’m always drawn back to my tried-and-true favorite ๐Ÿ™‚

Love this post! I find it hard to stick to one brand/item also, but there are a few that I love. I have actually been looking for a new concealer to try, and that Maybelline one sounds pretty great, thanks!

The Maybelline concealer is the bomb! I really do need to try out some other ones from the drugstore and see how they compare…I’m really bad at sticking to what I love and know works ๐Ÿ˜›

What a great idea for a post! It’s so true I tend to want to try what’s new, but I do have a few tried & true products that I can’t live without! I think I’ll have to create a similar post to share mine! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I LOVE reading posts like these! It’s so easy to get caught up in what’s new that’s coming out, but there are so many staples at the drugstore that are worth discovering, too ๐Ÿ™‚ Write a post, girl! I’d love to read your favorites!

I hear you, I’m always curious to try something new….but end up going with what I know I like. The next time I buy mascara, though, I am determined to try something from Covergirl. I hear great things about their mascaras, but have never tried any of them!

So many good favorites here! I have the Softlips Cube in Vanilla and it smells SO GOOD! I got a sample of that Neutrogena moisturizer in a Target Beauty Box and I still haven’t tried it yet (oops). Sounds like I really have to get on that!

Both are amazing, and I love that the SoftLips really does make my lips softer and more moisturized! I feel like so many 1) don’t inspire me to apply frequently (which SoftLips DOES!) and 2) don’t really make a big difference on my lips.
