Because everyone has those brushes in their makeup collection that they use day in and day out, right? You know those brushes I’m talking about — the ones you always make sure you keep clean so you can use them every time you do your makeup. 🙂
I have 5 brushes that stand out the most for me, in my collection. I use these every time I go to put on my makeup and they’ve held up really well with washing and maintaining. And they’re all drugstore-priced items! Just keep reading to discover which brushes I HIGHLY recommend!
My Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Brushes
These are in no particular order. They’re all highly loved equally!
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush — $8.99 — I’ve been using this brush for almost two years now and have never had a single issue with it. It never sheds, the many washes has not frayed the bristles, and the ferrule has never loosened. Besides from the stellar brush quality, it also works like a dream to apply my liquid foundations. It’s a bit smaller than some foundation brushes I’ve seen, but I actually like it for that. It makes it really easy to get into all the little crevices like around my nose area. And for less than $10, this is a great brush to get to start your makeup adventure with.
SoHo Beauty All Over Shadow Brush — $7.29 — I think this was the first eyeshadow brush I ever purchased….and it wasn’t long after that it became my favorite. It’s bigger and fluffier than the type of flat shadow brush I would use to apply my lid color, but it works absolutely wonderful to apply my brow bone highlight and really blend away any lines. I can’t remember how many years ago that I purchased this brush, but it’s held up like the first day I brought it home.
Real Techniques Contour Brush — Comes in the Core Collection set for $17.99 — This is a relatively new addition to my collection, but it quickly became my favorite brush to use to contour or bronze up my face. It’s nice, small, and tapered down the edges and works great if I want to carve out my cheekbones or just bronze up my face a bit.
bdellium Tools Studio 706 Fine Point Eyeliner — $8.00 — I received this months ago, but it quickly became my favorite brush to use to apply my gel liner. I kid you not, I wash this brush every night just so I will be able to use it again the next day. It has just SUCH a fine tip! It makes getting that beautiful, thin wing very easy. And even with the many, many washes I’ve given it, the bristles have not frayed or loosened at all. I highly, highly recommend it!
Real Techniques Setting Brush — $7.99 — I feel like I keep saying the same thing over and over, but this brush is fabulous. It is so tapered down the edges that it sets my under eye powders beautifully and without streaking the concealer that I’ve already set down. And for less than $10, I almost can’t believe it’s so high quality!
And those are my top 5 drugstore makeup brushes that I absolutely love! Do we have any brushes in common? Let me know in the comments below!
