How I Want to Decorate My New Family Room! (First Impressions)

If you didn’t already know, I married a Navy doctor last April and have been living in California since. My husband was trying to get into a Radiology residency this year, and not too long ago we found out that he was accepted — so we are going to be moving in a few months back to the other side of the United States. *happy dance*

So with all that said, a few weeks ago Bobee sent me this beautiful ‘Family’ wall decal. While I am REALLY tempted to put it up in my house right NOW — I am holding myself back so that I can use it to decorate my new house in a few months. 😀

Even though I can’t share the finished results of using this wall decal with you right now, I thought it would be lots of fun to tell you my plans and then — after the move — show you how it actually turned out and how working with this sticker was. So this will be like a two-part review. What do you all say? Sound like fun?

My First Impressions of the ‘Family’ wall decal

The wall decal arrived in a sturdy cardboard tube packaging and was rolled neatly inside — no worries about your wall decal getting a funky bend during shipping! Bobee also decorated the outside of the package with a cute bee decal and two colorful circles. I loved this special touch — made the order feel very personal and special. (Who else is like that?!)

The decal itself was much bigger than I had anticipated — I’m really bad ad judging size, but I would say it is bigger/longer than two 8×10 picture frames. So no matter where you put this wall decal — up high or down low — it will be easily seen and readable.

On the back of the wall decal there are both vertical and horizontal lines. I am really happy about this, as I always struggle with getting things to line up just right, so these lines will be a life-saver when I go to apply this to my wall.

How I want to Decorate My Family Room

This is where Pinterest comes in handy! I, personally, love wall decals and think they are such a personal and fashionable way to decorate your house. But, unfortunately, one of the draw backs of being in the military is that you move often. When I moved out here to my first home, I didn’t know if I would be here one or two years, so I held off on getting anything. But, now that I know we are going to be in the next house for at least 4 years….I’m going to put my Pinterest window shopping to good use! 😉
