Boost your Skincare and Makeup Routine with Evian® Facial Spray!

January 2, 2015 Katie Marie 18 Comments

I love setting sprays. The fact that they’ll help all my hard work last hours longer makes it totally worth incorporating into my daily routines. Who’s with me on this? *Looks for a show of hands* After I’ve spent an hour *cough…or more….* at my vanity, the last thing I want to see halfway through the day is all my work literally melting off my face!

I was recently sent this facial spray by Evian to try out. Have you ever heard of them before? I hadn’t. But, since I received it, I did a little research…and realized that Sephora, Ulta, and Nordstrom all sell this facial spray. See, I even looked for it on my last Ulta trip and, sure enough, there it was!

I like that this facial spray is easily accessible, either online or in stores. If you are totally new to this brand *as I was*, let’s learn a little bit about them.

Evian‘s History

Evian ®Natural Mineral Water’s journey starts as rain and snow high atop the French Alps after which it filters for over 15 years through glacial rock and sand to a deep underground catchment just outside the town of Evian-Les-Bains, France. The water contained in the spray is tested 300 times per day to insure quality and the consistent unique mineral content—guaranteed to be the same year after year—canister to canister. No other water has the same mineral content.

Evian Mineral Water Spray was originally introduced in France in 1962 at the request of doctors for use on burn patients. It was the first facial water spray in France and was introduced as the first facial spray in the United States in 1978. Because of the current world-wide awareness of the Evian brand name, and the 36 year efforts of the USA exclusive distributor (The Wilkes Group Inc. in Old Lyme, CT), Evian is the only facial spray to be carried by many prestige retail groups including Nordstrom and Sephora. It is also offered in many luxury resorts and hotels such as Four Seasons.

The French Government has extremely stringent standards for approving mineral waters as suitable to drink. Evian Facial Spray is the only mineral water spray in the USA to contain such a water and the only one with a companion drinkable bottled mineral water. Worldwide, the Evian brand can be found now in over 120 countries.

The Wilkes Group was founded in 1976 and has distributed Evian Facial Spray since 1978. The company is focused primarily on prestige distribution at retail and luxury resorts/hotels that buy the product as a room, cabana, or poolside amenity.

How I use Evian in My SKINCARE Routine

With each misting, evian® Brumisateur® (Brew-meez-ah-tour) Natural
Mineral Water Facial Spray helps hydrate, tone, and soothe all skin
types including sensitive skin leaving the skin looking healthy.

Each evening, after I’ve washed my face, I liberally spray this all over my face. The point of this is to help remove all traces
of tap water and cleanser while also toning and hydrating. After it dries on my skin, I continue with my regular skincare routine (acne medication, moisturizer).

I haven’t been using this product long enough to start to notice the benefits of it, but I am appreciating the fact that my skin hasn’t broken out with any new acne recently. 🙂 In fact, I started feeling a large, tender one under my skin, but after a few days (with it not getting any worse) it started to fad. Which I think is fabulous! 🙂

How I use Evian in My MAKEUP Routine

A favorite trick among makeup artists, our product can be used to lightly
moisten makeup brushes for more precise application and blending. It
can also be used to dilute makeup.
All the makeup setting sprays (and even some facial mists) that I’ve ever experienced before have a pump spray, not aerosol. I love the fact that this product is aerosol. It makes using this so easily — and it sprays out the most perfect, fine mist that I’ve ever experienced.
When I apply it after finishing my makeup, I wouldn’t say it helps lock everything in, but it does do a great job to eliminate any ‘cakey’ or ‘powdery’ look and leaves my foundation looking natural and healthy.

I think my favorite use for this product is to revive my makeup partway through the day. It does wonders for that! I’ll blot my face, touch up any areas that might’ve worn away, and then give it a good once over with Evian Facial Spray and my makeup looks reborn, just as good as when I first applied it. 🙂

More Information on the Benefits

My Final Thoughts on Evian Mineral Spray

The packaging of this product is really nice, sleek, and has a high-end feel to it. The price tag is kind of expensive, for what it is. It’s literally just water that’s inside (albeit, very beneficial water, I’m not knocking that!). For the 5 fl. oz. bottle that I have, it’s $12. It does appear that this product will last a good amount of time. I’ve been using it for several weeks, and the bottle still feels like it has a lot of product left, so that’s nice.

Is it worth the price? I say that if you can afford it, it’s worth having. Especially if you swim or are into sports — this facial mists helps remove perspiration, salt, and chlorine from skin…which we all know can be very harmful for our skin. I

I’ve really enjoyed adding this into my skincare routine, as well as having it on hand when my makeup needs a pick-me-up. I am looking forward to seeing the long-term benefits of using this product, and will no doubt be repurchasing this through either Ulta or Sephora when I run out.

Question for My Readers: Have you ever heard of Evian Facial Spray before? What are your thoughts?

I received the product mentioned above through BrandBacker. Regardless, I only share information that I think will be useful for my readers and I only recommend products I have personally used and liked.

So if it's water, could you put water in a spray bottle and do the same thing? I suppose the mist might not be as fine then though?

I use a similar product from Paul Mitchell and I love it. I mainly use it on my makeup sponges before applying foundation but it feels really refreshing in the summer too!

Olivia – I've heard of tea tree oil to use on your face. I've been meaning to do that. I just keep forgetting! But that's great to use on your face after you clean it. I don't know how similar the two are…they probably are both good, just target different things.

Simply Sheard – No, it's not *just* water. Oftentimes regular tap water has a lot of harsh chemicals or minerals in the water that harm the skin on your face. I know that where I live right now, the water is pretty terrible and I can see the effect it's having on my skin and hair. This Evian facial mist is water filled with *good* stuff for your skin. That's the difference 🙂

Ruya – Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy. The mist is so fine, I love how it feels on my skin after I spray it 🙂

Ravin Reviews – I've NEVER noticed it in Ulta or Sephora before, but now I see it every time I go in, lol! Yeah, I am definitely wanting to repurchase after I finish my canister. It feels so amazing!

Coline – Thanks! Glad to hear you're familiar with this brand.

Catherine – Hmm, that's a great idea to use it on your makeup sponges. I never thought of that! Might just have to try it! I could see why it would feel so good during the summer. 🙂

Maricor – Thanks, I'm glad it was helpful.

Alaska Reviews – Doesn't it feel amazing! They really did a great job with the nozzle, the mist is SO fine! Glad to hear you're liking it as well!

Melody Sim – Cool! Yes, I agree, it is really refreshing. I love using it partway through the day. It feels great, but it also helps my makeup to look freshly applied 🙂

I had never heard of it before. It reminds me of rose water sprays that are offered in few spas. But I'd love to use this one, it seems refreshing (and who wouldn't love to experience some French-touch?)

To be honest, I used to laugh about the whole "water in a can" thing that these were known for. I've tried the Evian and Avene ones, and I can definitely see the difference! My particular favourite of the moment is Avene's!

Noor – Yes, it does remind me of rose water sprays! That's a good way of putting it. (haha, I know, who wouldn't want a little french luxury 🙂

Stephanie – I'd never heard of the Evian drinking water before receiving this product and doing my research on this brand. I haven't heard of Avene, yet, either. Haha, I can sense more research and googling in my near future! 😉
