My Collective End-of-the-Year Sephora Haul!

December 29, 2014 Katie Marie 12 Comments

Because who doesn’t love to see other people’s beauty hauls? I know I do! It’s fun to experience the excitement with someone else over the new things they bought — and also to hear any first impression or reviews about the products. I know I’ve changed my mind on a product many times after reading someone else’s thoughts on it. ๐Ÿ™‚

A Collective Haul from Sephora

As I stated, this is a collective haul from my shopping in store and online this past month. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you would be interested in seeing me post more Sephora and Ulta hauls on here, let me know in the comments below!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard

$29 — “A creamy concealer with hydrating, multiaction skincare benefits and
light diffusing technology to create a softer, smoother complexion.”

I’ve heard about this concealer ever since I started following beauty bloggers/vloggers and in all that time, I don’t think I’ve ever read/heard any negative reviews on it. That says a lot! So, while this was kind of an impulse buy when I was about to checkout…I have been eying it for a long time. I’ve only used it a handful of times, but its been working beautifully both under my eyes and on my blemishes. I also own the Maybelline Fit Me one (which is also fantastic), but I feel that the NARS is just a bit more creamy (or maybe that’s just me trying to justify my purchase! :-P)

Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick in Fig

$21 — “The shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain, and pigment-packed color
of a liquid lipstick, all in one high-impact formula. Bold,
long-wearing color glides on cleanly with the precision tip applicator,
delivering rich color with staying power.”

I was sent one of these lipsticks to review, but because the color is a very bright pink (that I don’t think I can pull off), I decided to purchase one that I can wear out and about and do a review on them both. ๐Ÿ™‚ I haven’t worn it out yet, but I did apply it to my lips as soon as I got home. ๐Ÿ™‚ I really like how pigmented the color is. Now just to test how long it lasts without reapplying. Be on the lookout for a review in the near future!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita

$19 — “This innovative Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is infused with vitamins A,
C, and E for added hydration. The next-generation formula gives lips
long-lasting wear and high-pigment color with a smooth matte finish.”
I have been wanting to snag this color for so long! I purchased several different shades of this formula, but the colors never really suited me…and they were always out of Lolita. But! The last time I placed on order online, I was literally just
about to check out when I got an email saying that these were back in
stock. It took me all of three seconds to add that baby to my basket and
check out. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve worn this out once, and it looks great! It dries on your lips a bit darker than the color you see on the bottle. I ate a salad while wearing this, and I did have to reapply near the center of my lips, but that might just be because of the oils from the salad dressing. I do plan to test this product out more — especially since we’re in the winter months where dark lips are the norm. (I love a dark lip! ๐Ÿ™‚

Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide in Macadamia

$48 — “This revolutionary bi-phase, two part formula is designed to deliver the
most natural looking color and lightweight coverage. Brilliant
color-true pigments rest at the bottom of the foundation while
reflective waters (Hydro-Brilliant Technology) float to the top.
Vigorously shake the package before each use to ensure that the pigments
blend with the reflective waters to apply fresh-faced color every time.”
This foundation is relatively new (I think it came out earlier this year) and when I went into Sephora, I knew I wanted to try a Laura Mercier foundation. I’ve heard great things about them, and they had such a wide range of shades I knew I’d be able to find my match. I had a consultant help me decide which formula would suite my skin type the best, and she recommend this one.
I’ve only worn it once, but it held up beautifully all day. And matched my skintone almost to the letter! I was so impressed/pleased! The coverage is very good for a foundation and it’s easy to build up. It sets quickly, which I like, and has a semi-matte finish. Which I also like. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you can’t guess, my first impressions on this product are very good.

bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow

Full Size $18, Deluxe Sample 100 Points — “Full of skincare ingredients, this 12-hour wear cream shadow delivers
five benefits in one formula. A supercharged primer, it’s also a
powerful brightener and supports the smoothness of fine lines.”

I decided to cash in some of my points on Sephora and try out this Bare Minerals cream eyeshadow. I first heard Dani at Coffee Break with Dani raving about this, so when I saw that it was a point perk, I thought it was a great deal. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve worn it once, and did like how it canceled out the redness of my eyelids. It reminds me of the Maybelline Color Tattoos….except that I like this one better! It’s in a bottle with a doe-foot applicator — which I prefer over sticking my fingers into the pot. And it almost has a cream-to-powder finish — which the Maybelline ones do not. All in all, glad I spent the 100 points. ๐Ÿ™‚

And that about wraps it up! Let me be clear in saying that all products were purchased with my own money. ๐Ÿ™‚ I just wanted to share my newest purchases with you. I hope you found it interesting, and maybe learned about a new product, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Question for My Readers: Do you like seeing my makeup hauls? Would you be interested in seeing Sephora or Ulta hauls on a regular basis? Let me know, because if you’d read them, I’ll post them!

I should really ask someone to help me find my right shade, because I'd love to try these products but worry I'd pick a wrong color!

Megan – Oh, definitely! If you go to Sephora, they'll help you find the exact shade match. They have this handy little tool that will automatically give you all the foundations in the store that have a shade to match you. And if they don't have that, they're experts on color shades — I went into Sephora a few weeks ago and wanted to try a new foundation, but wasn't sure on which shade. The lady helping me was so sweet and she tried a few different colors on me before showing me which one matched me perfectly! ๐Ÿ™‚ They're super nice there, so don't feel shy about asking! ๐Ÿ™‚

Nancy – I know, me too. I could spend hours in that store swatching different palettes and trying different foundations. And the people that work at Sephora are SO helpful! ๐Ÿ™‚

Dana – I just got a 100 point perk at Sephora, but I am loving it! I think I'm going to have to buy the full size when this runs out.
